What are we all doing today then?

I've been up since 6 with the baby. Elder dc have gone to school and I've tried to get most of my housework done this morning while it's still the cooler part of the day. Just popped up to the post office with the baby as I had some parcels that needed posting today. Had considered a short walk after (with the snooze shade on obviously) but it felt too hot even for that so we came back home.

Not sure what to do with the rest of the day. I'm lucky that I'm on mat leave and don't have to go to work. Really feel for anyone who is having to do real life in these temperatures. How are you all spending the day?

Work in the morning then taking DS out to a woodland park.

It's shaded and will probably be cooler than most of the house is atm!

On my feet all day. 12 hour shift on an elderly care ward.

I'm on holiday visiting my parents so I am staying home all day with the children. We've got the paddling pool outside in the shady breezy garden so should be quite pleasant. Next door have a bigger pool so might pop over there too. I'm just waiting for my mum to come back from the supermarket to watch the children so I can walk over to the little shop and get some nice fizzy pop (the corner shop kinds that you can't get in supermarkets), before it gets too hot to walk there.

Reckon I'll mostly be playing on the switch, watching telly with DD and playing with DS today.

Nothing. I need to do my house work but have laid about with my 3yo DS since about 7:30am 🤣.

I'm not going out today at all.
It's nice and cool in the house, we have to go out tomorrow as I have a midwife appointment which will be just as hot if not hotter.

Staying indoors!

There's a gentle breeze here, we're near the top of a hill. I've got the windows and doors open but curtains closed. I've taken to wearing a long, loose, white cotton nightdress in a very fine fabric around the house. I look like a madwoman from a Victorian novel, but I frankly don't care.

When it gets hotter later, I may spray it with a mist of water, to make it even cooler, and stick my head under the cold tap. Then I'll look like Victorian madwoman who's tried to drown herself.

I’m spending the day keeping my dog cool. That’s it.

I need to get some X-rays done ahead of an appointment next week. I’m going to go today to the modern small unit nearby which should have AC and hope there’s a nice long wait.

Swim this afternoon and not much else at all. Feeling very guilty that I didn’t schedule the dog’s haircut sooner, he’s looking very mopey.

Work and grocery shopping.

Working, then I need to deliver the village newsletter. I might have a nap on the sun lounger at some point though.

It doesn't feel particularly hot where I am though.

Housework, grocery shopping, lunch with DH, passport renewals, bumming about on the Internet whilst quietly berating myself for wasting time bumming about on the Internet!

Too many of you doing housework 😂😂 keep that for the rainy days !

Been up, did a 5k along the beach, got home and quick tidy (already got some washing out - can't waste this sun!), now on a work call. Later, quick visit to relative in hospital and a nice evening walk.

Feeling productive, which is a good mood for a Monday 😂

DD is at school. DS(4) and I have come to the soft play cafe in the shopping centre - it's got air conditioning! Probably be our last time as DD is too big and he starts school in Sept.

After we're done here we're going down to the shops to see if we can get any clothes for our holiday. Everything is inside and lovely and cool, so we might stay here for as long as possible!

I have today and tomorrow as annual leave so reading, chilling, a bit of sewing, maybe some paperwork.

My daughters 18th today. We have had a maccies breakfast and she's having her nails done in a min, at home. She's currently drinking kylies rose Prosecco!

Lazy day at home then a huge meal out tonight.

SE London here. DD2 dropped at her airconned nursery with her swimsuit for paddling pools and a promise of lots of ice lollies. Will be a nightmare getting her home later on a bus though.
Working from home, all curtains and windows closed, fan on my legs. Already on second large icy drink of the day and just made some scrambled eggs with tomato chutney.

House is a mess, have closed doors so I dont have to look at it.

just had the most fun morning - internal ultrasound booked in due to periods going nuts. super fun way to start a monday!

i'm now in the spare room at my mum and dads. working. i wasn't sure how i'd feel after the procedure, and so decided not to go into the (air conditioned) office today.

scan place is just round the corner from mum and dads so thought it sensible to be here - they also look after the kids for me on a monday and i know they can get irritable when its too hot. so thought if i was here i could jump in and help if necessary.

windows open - curtains closed. drinking so much water.

I work from home, not planning on leaving the house till Wednesday. Certainly won't be doing housework! I have a nice breeze at the moment with the front windows and back doors open.

I kept DS1 off school today. He has been a right miserable git for over a week now with the weather and struggling to sleep so I thought it best to keep him off. I took him and ds2 to the beach early this morning. They played in the water fountains and the playground on the beach and we got home around 10 minutes ago. Ds2 has nursery this afternoon for just 2 hours and I will use that time to encourage ds1 to do some schoolwork.

Working from the office. It's an old Edwardian building so it's nice and cool. Later I'm painting our kitchen, which I'd rather not do but I have to!

The kids are at summer camp (plastered in suncream and with loads of water) and DH is in work till they finish. I'm working from home (not especially hard!). It's only 21 degrees so far here but that's already slightly more than enough for me. My main plans for the day are to make sure everyone is comfy and safe, and to eat ice cream.

My herb bed is looking very happy. The Mediterranean ones are practically singing up at the sun. And one of the cats came in soggy a while ago; she seems to have been in the stream. The chickens are very quiet (they're in the shade, they've loads of water and I'll throw them some frozen peas and sweetcorn and watermelon later). The ferrets are asleep in a nest of blankets, as usual, but they're just bonkers.

First day off for seven days but busy cleaning house (started early when cooler) and packing for our Greek holiday tomorrow 😀

Day off so lunch and shopping with my sister - outside shops - no air con so making the most of this wonderful weather!

I was up packing orders at 5am, took dog out at 6 and went to shops at 9. Now I'm holed up indoors with windows and curtains closed and tin foil on the patio doors like a nutter!

Our grandson was dropped off at 7 am this morning as his Mummy's in the office today. So he's been playing outside with water pistols and frizbee and helped Granny fill up both birdbaths front and back. Indoors now - played upstairs in his bedroom with his teepee and dolls house. Downstairs Playmobil and magnetic letters, copious drinks and snacks (and an ice cream) and it's only 10.45!!!!! He doesn't want to go to the library today, so that's out!!!! Think it's going to be a long day. (Hope he might have a nap later, fingers crossed!!!)
