UC cost of living payment

Patchworkpuppy · 18/07/2022 08:46

I hope I can post this here.

We claim a top up of UC as my DP’s wage is low and I’m registered disabled.

We are eligible for the cost of living payment as I’ve checked and double checked the criteria.
But my payment still hasn’t gone in…most people I know who are on UC have received it.

I know I’m fortunate to be getting it at all, but the not knowing when I’ll get, if at all, it is really stressful 🙁

Hope this doesn’t offend anyone. I’m becoming obsessed with checking my bank account. But still nothing showing.

It will be any day up until 31st July. I haven’t received it yet either

Allthegoodnamesaregoneffs · 18/07/2022 08:58

Mine is showing as pending for tomorrow, but it could have been any day until the 31st.

Why not, in your head, plan for it being here on the 31st, and if it comes sooner then that's a bonus

BiscoffSundae · 18/07/2022 09:06

It’s already been said that it can take as long as the 31st of July people are only going to repeat that to you on here

420Bruh · 18/07/2022 09:07

Mine isn't in yet either x

Twokidsanddone · 18/07/2022 09:43

A lot of people I know have had it but myself and a couple friends haven't. We were starting to wonder if it's alphabetical as the people we know who have had it have surnames around the first half of the alphabet. We are very close to the end. Seems a bit simple though so no clue. Fingers crossed soon

Lannielou · 18/07/2022 10:24

Mine went in today, my surname begins with C

Icedbannoffee · 18/07/2022 10:25

You will get it but could be anytime up til the end of the month.

WhichBitchIsWhich · 18/07/2022 10:26

It's being paid between the 14th and 31st of July and in no particular order as far as anyone is aware.

I don't understand why so many people are starting panicky threads about it just 4 days into the 17 day period over which payments are going out Hmm

Nope I got mine on the day and my surname is not at the beginning

GrandTheftWalrus · 18/07/2022 11:13

I'm still waiting on mine as well.

TigerRag · 18/07/2022 11:15

I've got mine, I'm on ESA and my surname starts with a H.

Can't understand why people are panicking about this?

I guess some people rely on that money. Count your blessings if you don’t.

timestheyarechanging · 18/07/2022 11:31

Mine went in today and very grateful I am to receive it!

To give more info re those thinking they roll up might be due to 1)location, 2)surname or 3) NI number (last letter):

1)greater London
2)Near the end of alphabet
3)Near beginning of alphabet

I hope you receive yours soon. I was over my overdraft limit due to unexpected outgoings, so am so relieved.

Nobody should really be relying on it, until a few weeks ago nobody knew this payment would be made and its intended to help with rising energy bills as we go into the winter anyway.

And there really is nothing to panic about, payments are being made over a 17 day period that only started 4 days ago. There are still 13 days of payments to be made. Everyone who qualifies will get theirs by the 31st.

I'm on a qualifying benefit (not UC) so I'm also getting the payment but not until "the autumn" whatever that means , before you accuse me of having no idea what it's like being poor!

timestheyarechanging · 18/07/2022 11:32
  • the roll out
BiscoffSundae · 18/07/2022 11:35

I saw someone on Facebook who was upset they hadn’t got theirs yet as they was “relying on it for their kids birthday presents” so some people don’t really rely on it like they want you to think....

tillytoodles1 · 18/07/2022 11:36

Maybe it's your N I number, mine ends in b and I had mine last Friday.

PinkButtercups · 18/07/2022 11:38

I think it's just random as they're going through them. I don't think it's done in any particular order as such.

Computers don't do things randomly do they? Someone who programmed this must know how it's being done but in the absence of that person all you can do is wait, it's not overdue unless we get to next month and it hasn't arrived.

Icedbannoffee · 18/07/2022 12:35

It will be some sort of order as it will be piggy backing on the existing system- but who knows what order!

dippingdots12 · 18/07/2022 12:48

I must be living under a rock because i literally haven't heard about this?
My partner gets UC and I'm on maternity leave so dont know if we're entitled to it or not but also i have no idea how I haven't heard about this as it would really help. Maybe its the baby bubble i'm in taking over my brain.

Patchworkpuppy · 18/07/2022 12:58

My national insurance number ends in a D so I’m assuming I’d have it by now if it’s done in that order. So frustrating.

If you'd read it as you say you have you'd see that it is paid anytime up until the 31st and in some cases later. Just be patient.

BoJoGoGoGo · 18/07/2022 13:05

D is the last letter on a NINO @Patchworkpuppy

MissMaple82 · 18/07/2022 13:06

Nobody should be counting on it as nobody knew about it until recently
