What cracks me up is the way these Tories are all insinuating that the past decade has been some kind of dark era in modern Britain and now it’s time for a fresh start and to “deliver, deliver, deliver” - a mere 12 years after they were first elected.

Because Penny is a cool girl. She drinks with the boys, she's ex navy, she said the word cock multiple times in the House for a bet. She's a looker, she's not married and they can all flirt with her.

She is white, sadly this actually counts, she is female, she is not an old Etonian and she is pretty ruthless. Liz Truss is too well known. Rishi is not all that he has given some dreadful radio interviews and is brown. Kemi is black, I don't think the members are ready for her. Tom Tugendhat is actually quite a good candidate but is too unknown and white male. I don't agree any of this is correct but those are the facts.

I agree with this. Maybe not entirely because of her looks, but I think they want a woman because we’ve had way too much sex pest/philandering going on and she’s the most “appealing” of the women candidates.
I think it might come down to her vs Truss. God help us.
