Am I interfering?

This evening DH was doing the washing up, as he was filling up the washing up bowl I checked that the water was hot because I hadn't heard him running the tap before filling the bowl.

He then accused me of interfering and I flicked water in his face before leaving the kitchen.

I genuinely didn't see him run the tap beforehand so was I interfering?

Yes, you were.

alphapie · 12/07/2022 20:00

Yes, you were interfering.

And bloody annoying to boot

AuntySandrasDauphinois · 12/07/2022 20:01

My lord you are wildly interfering

TowerRavenSeven · 12/07/2022 20:01

Hugasauras · 12/07/2022 20:01

This must be a reverse, yes?

Harridance · 12/07/2022 20:02

Yes

This must be a reverse, yes?

Seems so! Some would call flicking water in his face abusive.

Harridance · 12/07/2022 20:04

Yes I think that's out of order as a response

PuckeredArseFace · 12/07/2022 20:04

How annoying of you.

alphapie · 12/07/2022 20:04

@seven201 only if the flicker was a man of course

AffIt · 12/07/2022 20:05

If you flicked water in my face, I would feel completely within my rights to shove a dishcloth up your arse.

ladydoris · 12/07/2022 20:05

yes, You were. I would be annoyed.

ladydoris · 12/07/2022 20:06

It's a reverse isn't it? can you breathe?

Bibbetybobbity · 12/07/2022 20:07

Good grief

MaxVerstappensHat · 12/07/2022 20:10

Why do posters think it's a reverse?

It isn't, I was in the living room and I didn't hear the tap being run so I checked the water temperature just as he started washing everything. DH said what on earth are you doing, stop interfering and I realised that yes, the water was hot.

Looks like I need to apologise.

ladydoris · 12/07/2022 20:17

Personally? Because I knew men like that.

TolkiensFallow · 12/07/2022 20:18

Yes. Apologise.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 12/07/2022 20:22

Was the flicking the water done because you were pissed off with him or done jokingly? Did he think it was amusing? Roll his eyes? Get upset?

So many different ways this could have played out.

I trust DH to be able to wash up without my supervision so I wouldn't check that he was doing it correctly, but I certainly would flick water at him (light-heartedly) and we'd both find it funny.

Nietzschethehiker · 12/07/2022 20:27

If I had pulled that ridiculousness on dp he would have walked away and told me to do the washing up myself if I wanted to be an arrogant asshat (actually he wouldn't use such horrible words to me...but I would about myself)

Seriously is he a toddler ?

tulippa · 12/07/2022 20:27

You weren't even in the same room??

EarringsandLipstick · 12/07/2022 20:29

I flicked water in his face before leaving the kitchen.

That's horrible.

Slushycup · 12/07/2022 20:29

Yes you were interfering.

although my DH never runs the water hot enough when he does the dishes and it does my head in.

OutDamnedSpot · 12/07/2022 20:30

But why would it matter even if the water wasn’t hot? He was washing up. He decides temperature. Surely?
