Am I interfering?

This evening DH was doing the washing up, as he was filling up the washing up bowl I checked that the water was hot because I hadn't heard him running the tap before filling the bowl.

He then accused me of interfering and I flicked water in his face before leaving the kitchen.

I genuinely didn't see him run the tap beforehand so was I interfering?

It's not a necessity to have hot water actually. The food remainders / germs are dislodged by the rubbing action, not the temp of the water. It might take you a little longer to finish it off as hot water makes the washing up liquid more bubbly and faster but you don't NEED hot water.

And I don't think flicking water I'm his face was very nice.
