To ask people who have COVID right now...

I've come on here to try and find people who are also positive with COVID and massively struggling. The hours are so long and I need to speak to people to keep my mind off the pain and discomfort. I'm 25, have had all my jabs, had it last July too, yet I feel SO unwell. I've barely slept and have been close to tears most of the night.

So - is there anyone else who is stuck in bed with it and would like to chat at points throughout the day on here? Talk about what we are watching, eating, how we are feeling etc?

I need virtual company!

I'm sorry you are struggling. I've only just started to feel a bit more human but it hit me like a truck. Also fully vaxxed. What day are you on? The first 3 days were nasty

x2boys · 08/07/2022 07:46

I have a virus ,I don't know if it,s covid ,but I have a temp ,aching all over ,starting with a cough 😢and my ds also has symptoms, we both feel pretty crap tbh .

covidstruggle · 08/07/2022 07:47

I tested positive yesterday morning (my partner has had it all week) but felt relatively okay for most of the day - doing housework, showering etc. and then, last night. Wow. It suddenly felt like my whole body was bruised and I've never felt so weak!

I had a terrible night and have been awake for hours. I still have my appetite though and am debating a maccies breakfast delivery...

Is it worth doing a test? That sounds miserable :(

Hopefully I'm getting some tests from a friend ,whether it's covid or not i feel your pain I also have a constant headache .

Another COVID person here, also 20s, also fully vaxxed. Am about 5/6 days through now and I really feel rough still.

What symptoms have you got? I feel like my symptoms vary massively and come and go by the day. Currently, I have a splitting headache and a gippy tummy. Yesterday was light sensitivity and muscle pains and a temperature. All accompanied by a vile cough.

I do still have my sense of taste and smell though so that is a plus.

I'm feeling pretty frustrated, I thought it would be over by now :(

I'm planning to spend the day listening to audiobooks and/or watching TV I think.

Augend23 · 08/07/2022 07:53

Oh was it hypersensitivity on your skin you had last night? Have you been taking painkillers. I had hypersensitive skin on Tuesday and it was aided at least somewhat by painkillers. They also helped with the temperature for me.

My symptoms are less to do with a cough/cold - AWFUL back and body pains, a terrible fever (literally shivering and sweating simultaneously) and generally extremely weak and tired. I'm quite good at being ill normally as I'm not the type of person that feels sorry for myself, but this time I just want my mum! 🤣

I tested positive yesterday.
feel absolutely awful. Intense headache, temperature and my kidneys are also painful too. Generally feel like pants
we were meant to be going on holiday on Saturday- so that’s now not happening

covidstruggle · 08/07/2022 07:54

We bought a caravan last weekend and had spent all week doing it up, now we can't go and I'm gutted!

Just recovered as a household. Dh and ds felt really rotten for a few days, didn’t know what to do with themselves. I slept for two days and got through it quicker. Read a lot also.

The Norrie Djovic match is on later, which should be good.

motogirl · 08/07/2022 07:56

I have cold symptoms and a bit of a sore throat, boss had positive covid last week so I suspect I caught it but it is fine, don't have any tests so I'm just carrying on. I have been exposed so many times including my partner and I never seem to develop enough virus to test positive or it to develop thankfully

Riverlee · 08/07/2022 07:56

We found lollies helped alot - Calippo, Fabs, Rockets. They were refreshing and delicious.

DelurkingAJ · 08/07/2022 08:01

Three out of four of us are down. DH on day 4 is so much better which is handy as I (day 2) feel like death warmed up. All fully vaccinated.

greenacrylicpaint · 08/07/2022 08:06

down with it right now.
started monday during the day with sore throat and headache. by the evening my joints and my skin hurt.
next day fever & fatigue.
since then fatigue, 'heavy head', cough, head cold...

I hope you feel better soon!

Numbat2022 · 08/07/2022 08:09

I had it in April so different variant and didn't feel too bad (but took weeks to recover from the exhaustion). But when I did feel rough I found ibuprofen much better than paracetamol, if that helps?

Whitewolf2 · 08/07/2022 08:09

I’m sorry you are suffering OP! I’m on day 6 and first day I’m starting to slowly feel better. I felt horrific days 3, 4, 5, so blocked up I couldn’t breathe or think straight, high temp and aches, zero energy, some appetite but nausea every time I ate. I couldn’t sleep much either and when I did woke up feeling like I had someone sat on my chest. It was scary. Last night I had the best sleep so far and I feel more human today. All I can advise is to take as much paracetamol and ibuprofen as you can and rotate so you’re never not covered by something! And just take the chance to rest if you can. I have a 4 year old who has covid now so not so much chance of that here!

greenacrylicpaint · 08/07/2022 08:15

oh and my eczema has flared up massively. not sure if that's a coincidence.

Also finding Ibuprofen better than paracetamol here as well.

covidstruggle · 08/07/2022 08:20

I've been taking two ibuprofen and two paracetamol at a time - does seem to help

Day 5 here. Not awful awful but not great. Some aches and pains, some congestion, scratchy throat that gets sore if I speak too much. Bit breathless and mild cough.

Worse is the tiredness and head fuzziness. Constant headache and dizziness. It's really messing with my sleep too so I am exhausted

I have been doing a couple of hours work a day (I wfh) but I may just give up today as I have a job which is quite intense and am just sitting like a stunned mullet. Probably better not trying and resting

speedyhedgehog · 08/07/2022 09:53

Day 15 here. Still tested positive last time I checked on day 13. Fully vaxxed but immune suppressed its the first time I've definitely had it, was also very ill the December before it all exploded. First 4 days were the worse, upset tummy, spliting headache, light sensitive, streaming cold, temps, cough and sore throat. Still getting headaches, still have a sore throat, still full of cold and coughing. But up and about. First few days I barely left my bed. I still need a nap most days. I am always tired because of my chronic illness but this is another level.

Mercurial123 · 08/07/2022 10:10

I tested positive last week. It started with a migraine and vomiting. The second day onwards were just mild cold symptoms though I have no appetite and my insomnia has returned.

Ukholidaylover · 08/07/2022 11:35

Covid here too, no vaccines, personal choice. 2 days of migraine but fine apart from that tbh. Isolating as to not infect anyone else.

SherbetDips · 08/07/2022 11:39

Tested positive yesterday, I’ve got off lightly tbh just low energy and a mild cough. Only reason I'm not at work is today is my normal day off plus the weekend.
