To ask people who have COVID right now...

I've come on here to try and find people who are also positive with COVID and massively struggling. The hours are so long and I need to speak to people to keep my mind off the pain and discomfort. I'm 25, have had all my jabs, had it last July too, yet I feel SO unwell. I've barely slept and have been close to tears most of the night.

So - is there anyone else who is stuck in bed with it and would like to chat at points throughout the day on here? Talk about what we are watching, eating, how we are feeling etc?

I need virtual company!

For the muscle aches I found heat helped and stuck a few of those heating pads on the bottom of my back. The aching eased after a few days. Feel better soon everyone.

x2boys · 08/07/2022 11:47

Just tested positive on an LfT 😢

BeastOfBODMAS · 08/07/2022 11:49

I am on day 6, days 2-4 were the worst for me with fever, chills, cough, headache, cold.
Now nursing my DH and 7 month old through it. Had to take DH to A&E with breathing difficulties last night, collected him 2am then had an ambulance out again this morning. The baby is being an absolute trooper and I’d probably be ok by now if I could just get some sleep

Shoobydooer · 08/07/2022 11:56

I've been unwell all week but repeatedly tested negative up to Weds morning. My boss, quite uncharacteristically, told me I had to go into the office to do some training Weds and Thurs. I didn't want to and was noticeably full of cold. Have now taken the day off and am not fit for anything. Noticed my sense of smell and taste is gone, so a bit scared. Have been around a lot of people this week.

balalake · 08/07/2022 11:57

Three work colleagues have had it in the last week and their description is similar to yours. Hope you are better soon.

quickquack35 · 08/07/2022 12:03

Same here. Tested positive on Wednesday and really struggling still. It's the exhaustion that's hit me most and currently snuggled in bed. I keep feeling like my energy comes back and as soon as I get up I have to lie down again.

WhiteFire · 08/07/2022 12:06

COVID here. Tested positive yesterday, didn't feel too bad, but absolutely washed out today.

MaverickSnoopy · 08/07/2022 12:18

I'm on day 7 and just starting to feel a bit better. Days 2 and 3 were the very worst. I had so much muscular pain that my hips locked and I couldn't stand or walk at all! Still getting a bit of it now but am able to push through and walk, although painful at times. It was physically impossible before. I could only lie in bed - the pain was searing. I've had every symptom going apart from temp and loss of taste/smell.

Drinking lots of water has helped, windows open for my sanity, paracetamol and throat sweets.

Now just testing faintly positive. Hope you start to feel better soon!

OxanaVorontsova · 08/07/2022 12:26

I'll join you OP. Felt dreadful on Tuesday, but test was negative, then positive Weds am. Aching all over, full on cough and cold, sore throat like razor blades, lethargic. I still have taste and smell but my mouth feels so horrible I'm only eating when my stomach starts to rumble! Slightly dodgy tum first two days but not so far today. Can't contemplate doing anything more demanding than lying down!

GlitterSparkley · 08/07/2022 12:30

DD tested positive on Wednesday. Her symptoms started monday. I woke this morning feeling hot and with cold symptoms. Have now progressed to body aches. I’m not feeling too bad right now but am worried for the next couple of days will bring. Am not testing though as if it says positive (which I think it will) then I know my symptoms will suddenly feel worse!

Purplecatshopaholic · 08/07/2022 12:30

I have found my people! Been suffering all week and getting really pissed off now. So must be feeling better - was too ill to be pissed off before! I tested positive on Saturday and been feeling bloody awful since. Can’t believe how debilitating this is! I guess it would have been worse if not vaxxed. Terrible cough, headache, feeling sick, sweating/fever, etc - covid really is the gift that keeps on giving!

OxanaVorontsova · 08/07/2022 12:33

Grim isn't it? Thankful for the vaccinations or it would be so much worse! I'm 52 but fit and healthy usually, first time off sick in 5 years. I'd assumed I'd be back at work on Monday but really not sure that's going to happen.

Shoobydooer · 08/07/2022 12:37

Just tested negative which is such a relief!

Still have literally every covid symptom but a high temp, so staying in bed. Will give Only Murders in the Building a go I think.

MissM94 · 08/07/2022 12:37

👋🏽👋🏽 i'm 28, had all my jabs.. DP has had it all week, I tested negative in the morning yesterday then tested positive tea time after having the most horrendous bout of shivers and an awful headache, been taking paracetamol every 4 hours, currently have a headache, tickly throat/cough, little bit of a runny nose and I keep going red hot. Oh, and we have an 8 week old baby who is being extra clingy, which is perfect when you're 297474 degrees 🙃

covidstruggle · 08/07/2022 12:40

What is everyone watching? I watched You Don't Know Me last night which I loved although the ending was slightly frustrating!

Also 20s! First time getting covid had all my vaccines. I'm not too bad. I feel like I have a really bad head cold. Snotty, sinuses blocked and a bit of a cough/sore throat. Feel better today but felt awful for yesterday. Pretty much living off sudafed.

watching tv makes my head explode.

listening to podcasts feels better.

Chikapu · 08/07/2022 12:50

I'm just coming out of the other side of it, still feeling really exhausted and dizzy but definitely better now.
I had a couple of days last week that were genuinely scary, temp so low then so high I was unable to do anything other than lie in bed feeling sorry for myself.
I passed the time by watching My Mister on Netflix, a really good (but heartbreaking) Korean drama.

cinnabun18 · 08/07/2022 13:02

Tested positive on Wednesday AM. But I think I started showing symptoms on Monday. Remember achy shoulders, feeling in my ears like my sinuses were blocked but didn't think much of it. Couldn't sleep Tuesday night, woke up with the WORST headache logged on to work and by 2pm I was off, it was the chills and sweats that made me test and sure enough it was positive.

The headache and the chills and sweats are the worst. The body aches also suck royally but it seems worse first thing in the morning and then gets better. I'm currently isolating and feeling pretty bored at the moment. I don't feel like I have enough focus to read or anything, but any entertainment suggestions?

I know we aren't legally required to isolate anymore but how long until you officially are not contagious?

cinnabun18 · 08/07/2022 13:03

Also forgot to say lost my appetite aswell and have low level nausea and maybe acid reflux at the minute.

Onionbhajisandwich · 08/07/2022 13:24

I tested positive on Tuesday. I’ve been in and out of bed, pottering around a little. I’ve completely lost my voice today but the headache isn’t as bad as yesterday which is an improvement. I’m still short of breath though. It’s not much fun 😩

PersonalClown · 08/07/2022 14:37

Started feeling like shite Tuesday, tested neg morning and night.
Tested early Wednesday morning, bright, glaring positive.
Spent 3 days in bed on self imposed exile, only felt bad for 2 of them.
Both child and DP are testing neg, I'm up and about with a mask on, all windows and doors open and fan going to hopefully keep them clear.
Feels like a cold to me. I'm a bit stuffy and slight cough to clear the crap in my throat.

WhiteFire · 08/07/2022 14:40

DH has also tested positive. I watched Wonder on Netflix earlier but just had the radio on since.

Ds has autism and asks about 5 minutes how I'm feeling, not too different to last time you asked son.

Karmatime · 08/07/2022 14:49

Tested positive this morning, been feeling bad since Wednesday but negative yesterday. Started with heartburn, tiredness, achy all over and super sensitive skin. Horrid sore throat started last night and I have a phlegmy cough that hurts. DP has it too - he’s just wiped out. In our 50s and triple vaxxed but booster was in November. First time for both of us, hoping this is as bad as it gets.

Karmatime · 08/07/2022 14:51

I really want an ice lolly now but can’t justify going to the shops!
