Am I being unreasonable to wish to cast my vote for Larry the Cat at the next election?

Yes I agree. Upon consideration, I think a 100% feline cabinet would work too.

Unless you are a Tory MP, you can't vote for who holds the PM role.

So you need to go grassroots - find a safe seat to parachute Larry into, and get him on the backbenches. He won't get caught watching porn at least.

Careful though. We all know cats see humans as slaves really. You may be sleepwalking into a cat-focused feudal overlord system.

WatchoRulo · 07/07/2022 12:22

Well there are certainly plenty of seats where he could get elected as long as he wore a Blue Rosette.

Skinnermarink · 07/07/2022 12:23

He’s lovely but he’s too old. He’s 15, about 75 in human years. Let the old bugger retire and curl up on a chair in front of the fire.

MrsCat1 · 07/07/2022 12:24

And I would like to propose my glossy girls for Chancellor and Home Secretary. Need to ensure proper female representation in the cabinet.

Entirely unreasonable. Larry is the chief mouser and pest controller for Number 10... he's been doing such a bad job of the latter that he can't possibly become PM. Pests are running rampant all over the place. Larry has failed. Larry should go

maybe I'm overthinking this

KirstenBlest · 07/07/2022 12:29

Might there be a seat up for grabs in Uxbridge and South Ruislip?

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 07/07/2022 12:32

We do need someone who can chase undesirables out of number 10.
I suspect that we have a nest of rats rather than mice there too.

This is a job for a real big dog.
Sorry Larry.

HannahSternDefoe · 07/07/2022 12:33

We'll vote for Larry - do my feline overlords get votes too? 😻😻

Covidagainandagain · 07/07/2022 12:34

I think having an all cat parliament could be seen as species-ist

Instead each party should choose their signature animal and put forward one in each area

So conservatives could be cats, labour could be dogs (labradors specifically), greens could be geese, monster raving loony party could be monkeys, plaid could be platypuses, snp could be seals, dup could be dolphins

I could be overthinking this of course...

Sorry Larry.

My NDN has a tiny black and white cat - he's about 10 or 11.

He regularly delivers rats to his own and our doorstep we're his "holiday home"

Hippopotas · 07/07/2022 12:34

He has my vote.

Sweep would like to put herself forward for the position of minister in charge of “ekekekek” at pigeons and magpies

HannahSternDefoe · 07/07/2022 12:35

Tories would be lizards at best, maybe with the odd snake in the grass...

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 07/07/2022 12:36

Larry would be great, it's about time we had a murdering despot.

HannahSternDefoe · 07/07/2022 12:39

<bows> to the Rt Hon Sweep (Member of the Feline Parliament) Minister of Air.
You don't also answer to Michael, or Paws? 😻

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 07/07/2022 12:42

“If cats looked like frogs we'd realize what nasty, cruel little bastards they are. Style. That's what people remember.” (Terry Pratchett)

The more I think about it, the more cats seem like natural politicians. Style and relentless self interest.

Hippopotas · 07/07/2022 12:48

On reflection I think there might be too many compromising photos of Sweep and she would be sacked from office for such behaviour. 😝

David Cameron lost the PM'ship because of Boris Johnson.

Theresa May lost the PM'ship because of Boris Johnson.

And now Boris Johnson has lost the PM'ship because of Boris Johnson.

The circle is fucking complete. 😂😂🤣🤣

Hat-trick Motherfucker!!! 🤣😂😂🤣

Given recent events I suspect that Sweep's behaviour would only result in promotion...

TiredYorkshireMam · 07/07/2022 12:58

Larry the cat has a Wikipedia page. I ended up down a total rabbit hole reading about all the previous cats who have held that office. So funny.

Yougottalaffdarlin888 · 07/07/2022 13:28

labour could be dogs (labradors specifically),

Wait wait wait wait wait.... Paws for thought here!!!! Does that look to you like a "Labour" dog??? I appreciate the play on words, but surely a dog breed that gets its paws dirty for Labour?

Boris is ordering a furry suit on Amazon even now ...
