To hate head massages at the hairdressers?

Yesterday the hairdresser washed my hair and then gave me a long head and even the front of my head an intense massage. It felt weirdly intimate and inappropriate even though I know others love it. Aibu to dislike this and wish they would stick to cutting hair ?

I love a head massage. My hairdresser always puts a special request in on my behalf with the junior staff.

I hate this too! I always ask them just to skip it.

I'm really introverted but I treat the head massage bit as part of the deal - for me it seems to make a huge difference to how shiny my hair is afterwards. I assume it gives it plenty of time to allow the conditioning treatments to work.

Small talk can do one though.

Personally I'd rather not have my hair washed in the salon either, mine is fine with a dry cut.

I don't like them. Just say you don't want it and your scalp is sensitive or you don't like it. I'm sure they won't be fussed if you don't want one, it's one less thing for them to do.
