If it got lost, stolen or broken?!
I don't mean the really practical things, such as the kettle or your bed.
But a non-essential item that you would struggle to be without.
Mine would have to be my Oodie. I got an actual branded one from Vinted and couldn't be more in love with it.
Even in summer, it comes in handy in a Scottish basement flat!
So what's yours?

Dishwasher

Could live without TV, washing machine, even cooker for a bit but dishwasher would get replaced immediately

And Wi-Fi... we were without Wi-Fi for a week following the storms last year and it was surprisingly hard to do anything (banking, communicating with family, watching tv ...)

One non-essential and also broken item that I fantasised about binning (not replacing!!) today was my husband.

Sorry, rough couple of days. Couldn’t help it.

Yeah well the things that bought me joy over many years , convertible, baby g watch, lucky pants, sun lounger, beautiful cactus … all gave up the ghost 2 years ago.
The ones that I’ve replaced …haven’t been the same.

I think move on.

Bose sleepbuds. I have a DH who snores like a train and I have bouts of terrible insomnia. These help me get to sleep and prevent the ‘God why are you so asleep and LOUD’ rage when I can’t.

ALL the computers. I like to pretend it's no big deal, but I now require

  1. Desktop, because it's too hard to type on anything else and I want to look at a nice big screen
  2. Tablet, because it's a decent-sized screen and is portable
  3. Phone - I've only had a smartphone for less than two years but it is SO convenient when I'm out.

How can one person require three separate devices to access the internet?

Wilkolampshade · 16/06/2022 23:03

Earbuds.
Got some for my birthday in April. Misplaced one almost straightaway. Bought new pair the next day. Then found first, missing one. Now a able to swap over while charging next pair. Make more difference to my ability to focus and concentrate than anything ever has. Life changing.

Any single component within or attached to my pc (graphics card, RAM etc). We have driven over 2 hrs each way to get a new PCU (old one blew) as the one I needed wasn't in stock anywhere closer.

Other than my glasses and my phone…

hair straighteners. Or you’d better give me some frizz-ease instead.

Sunglasses & matte lipstick 🤣🤣 nothing worse than a glossy lip and your hair sticking to it when it's windy 🫤

Bournetilly · 16/06/2022 23:24

My phone is probably the only thing I’d have to replace straight away. I’d have to replace my hair straighteners quickly though.
