TUI holiday website not taking bookings, what is going on?

Have a holiday booked with Tui during the school holidays all booked and paid for. Just visited the site to book a holiday somewhere warm over the Christmas holidays and you can’t book. It pulls the holidays and prices up, you click on the hotel you fancy and you can’t go any further. The main description is there but when you try to look at facilities and different types of rooms the section in blank and says call then the phone number. There is also no button to click to book or select different flights etc etc. I have come off the site gone back on tried a different destination and hotel and it’s exactly the same.

This is what I mean. I wanted to book Cape Verde couldn’t so selected the destination underneath as a test and still the same. No button to book and all information removed, I am hoping it is just a website glitch.

Oh dear, this might be a sign they’re going under

RainCoffeeBook · 11/06/2022 16:11

Do you read the papers or follow Things Going On In The World at all?

Helpfulhannah · 11/06/2022 16:11

ummm, you’re being unreasonable posting it on this board. Plus the ‘second holiday of the year in Cape Verde’ is a little braggy.

i looked myself and the site works fine on my phone - try another browser, or try again later but beyond that I don’t know that anyone here is Tui customer support trained 😂

TokyoSushi · 11/06/2022 16:11

Or the website could just be down...

HighSea · 11/06/2022 16:11

@Ohdearthatwasntgreatwasit That is what I am worried about, it doesn’t look good.

It's working fine for me

OneCup · 11/06/2022 16:12

At what stage are you getting stuck? Mine seems to work.

Jott · 11/06/2022 16:12

It's a glitch or there's no availability for those dates.

I'm looking at September holidays and it's allowing me to book.

It may just be the dates - I’ve just gone in and it seems to be working fine for September / October. Perhaps they’ve sold out.

FrownedUpon · 11/06/2022 16:12

There are strong rumours Tui are in financial trouble.

backaftera2yearbreak · 11/06/2022 16:13

My mums just booked a holiday on their website she said 🤷‍♀️

HighSea · 11/06/2022 16:13

Ok must just be the dates I am selecting then, December first week of school holidays.

OP posts:
HighSea · 11/06/2022 16:14

It pulls up the list of holidays and prices, let you click on the holiday of choice but nothing after that. Tried three destinations now for that week.

I just tried it and got to payment but their site is horribly glitch. They have just changed carrier for our trip, notified yesterday. Better than jet2 who cancelled my short break July package on Thursday. Not holding my breath with getting away at all this year.

Oh please 🙄
Some people aren’t on the bones of their arse and guess what, they are allowed to post about things that cost money (even if this was a silly question).

Jott · 11/06/2022 16:16

There are huge staffing issues at present so it could be that week is unavailable for the destinations you're looking at. Family member works in the travel industry and is flying on planes that are more or less at capacity in terms of passenger numbers.

Why on earth is it braggy? It's an anonymous site.

Also, it's an unwritten rule on mums net that people post on AIBU for traffic.

HighSea · 11/06/2022 16:20

It will let me book October half term so might just do that instead. Every warm destination I have tried for December won’t let me book, I just find it a bit odd never had this issue before.

Have you been to CV? It's the only place we've been to that we wouldn't go back to.

Lovely 5* hotel but there was a brothel with very young girls (12/13) working there calling to all the men 5 minutes walk away. The TUI reps just said oh yes it's annoying isn't it? Confused loads of other bad points for us too. I know they're trying to push the tourism angle hard but once was enough.

Also, I wouldn't book for Christmas. I would be amazed if they're still going then.

HighSea · 11/06/2022 16:25

@flesh no never been before, the warm weather all round is what drew me to it. Maybe it was lucky I couldn’t book as I wouldn’t like that at all. Maybe it will be The Hard Rock Hotel Mexico if I can ever book anything.

I was thinking this. Just because a lot of people are finding it hard, not everyone is 🤷‍♀️

Tigertigertigertiger · 11/06/2022 16:37

@HighSea the Morabena hotel in Sal in Cape Verdi Is lovely. No prostitutes.id love to go back

i heard this from someone who works in that area

i wouldn't book anything with them now, it all looks quite shaky.

Aseagullatemybaby · 11/06/2022 16:44

@flesh I have to agree I’m afraid, I’ve been to many places and Cape Verde for me was awful, soulless and really exploited local people (also booked with TUI in a 5* complex).
