Weekly food delivery substitutes went a bit retro and we've got a pack of creme caramels

AIBU to be outraged that DH does not serve them on a dish as any civilised person would do?!

He spent his whole childhood ignoring the little silver tab on the bottom. Not only that, he also drinks the sauce before eating it out of the pot with a spoon. Animal!

Ummm silver tab at the bottom? What's the purpose of that? The only creme caramels I've ever eaten were cheapy ones where if you put it in a plate it would just spread out all over. They weren't very nice either

I eat them from the tub with a spoon (teaspoon, obviously) and always ponder what it would be like to turn it out onto a plate but do not do this because I would have to get a plate, risk it going slurrrrrrrrrrrrrp phfffffffffttttttttt! into a big messy heap and it would be much harder to reserve the sauce for last.

I'd like to turn them out onto a plate but I also don't have the self control for that!

Tunnel down one side until you get to the juice, drink the juice, then eat the rest

I am (not really) very sorry to say this....

I slurp the little bit of sauce off the top, and spoon it out, making very sure it comes out with the grooves still intact and becoming enraged if any sticks to the side of the pot. Followed by sucking it through my teeth off the spoon. Then drink the rest of the bastard down.

Tip onto plate. Hover gob slightly above crème caramel. Suck entire bundle of deliciousness up in one go. Job done!

Off track but have you tried the posh Bonne maman ones? They are so good! No plate required for eating of either, unless you are going to lick the plate clean you will undoubtedly lose most of that sweet sweet caramel to the plate...
