Second toe longer than big toe

Not an AIBU but wanted to see poll results plus it’s a Sunday evening and I’m bored…

My second toe is notably longer than my big toe.

It’s called a Morton’s toe its recorded prevalence varies in different populations, with estimates from 2.95% to 22%.

Doesn’t really bother me but none of my friends have it so was wondering if any MNers have it. I seem to have inherited it from my father and apparently it is more common in men.

It is supposedly associated with naturally athletic people, which fits with me but definitely not my father!

So, is your second toe longer than your big toe? (YABU - No, YANBU - Yes).

Yep. On both feet.

Apparently when I was born the doctor I need itself asked who I got the cow toe from Grin

CaptainMyCaptain · 29/05/2022 20:26

I don't know what to vote but my toes are like this. I wouldn't say I was particularly athletic but I'm reasonably fit and have never been overweight.

LiIo · 29/05/2022 20:27

@Whatelsecouldibecalled Cow toe?! Not heard that one before! I’m surprised the doctor mentioned it ha 😂

Mine are the same length.

Trinacham · 29/05/2022 20:27

No. But my mum has that.

HardStareBear · 29/05/2022 20:27

Yes. And I'm about as athletic as a bag of tatties.

MardyBumm · 29/05/2022 20:28

Mine is on both feet! My sister, mum and niece also have a second toe bigger too. The most athletic I am is walking to the fridge though.

TheOriginalEmu · 29/05/2022 20:29

No, but all of my toes are stupidly small and I’ve always blamed my ridiculous clumsiness on them. They’re not long enough to hold me up 😂😂

thefemaleJoshLyman · 29/05/2022 20:29

I have my second toe quite considerably longer than my big toe. I am fairly athletic. I think DH is the same too but not such a big gap.

twomumsonebump · 29/05/2022 20:29

second toe definitely longer and it appears i've passed it on to my newborn 😂

AndSoFinally · 29/05/2022 20:30

Yes mine are

CallMeNutribullet · 29/05/2022 20:30

I have it and I'm extraordinarily unathletic. I run like phoebe buffet and I'm so uncoordinated they worried I had dispraxia as a child

Haggisfish3 · 29/05/2022 20:30

Yes and I’m reasonably fit and enjoy being fit.

gamerchick · 29/05/2022 20:30

My toes go down in size in order. Like a slide. Feet are strange things.

5zeds · 29/05/2022 20:33

yes for me, I’m not athletic but am more so than my not long second toe siblings

Intransigentcat · 29/05/2022 20:33

My second toe is quite a bit longer and I am steadfastly non athletic.

I've always known it as a Greek toe and someone once told me that's what the statue of liberty has. Keep meaning to do a Google images!

Shopgirl1 · 29/05/2022 20:33

Mine is longer on one foot but not the other. I’d never heard it associated with athleticism - could be something in it, I’m a runner, but love most sports.

FarmCat31 · 29/05/2022 20:33

Yes mine are on both feet, but no one else in the family has it.
Im fairly athletic but not sure if there’s a link.

I have this.

Neither of my parents, siblings or my children do.

I’ve heard it called a “classical foot” which I prefer!

i don’t think it’s that unusual although obviously less common that the big toe being longer.

Im not particularly athletic

CornishPorsche · 29/05/2022 20:42

Yes, and so has my mum.

Apparently it's a sign of a witch. Or so we all told ourselves as teenagers 😂

Second toe longer than big toe
GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 29/05/2022 20:43

I reckon mostly people whose second toe is longer are going to click on the link, so you’ll get a misleading poll 😁

Pricklesinperil · 29/05/2022 20:44

Mine are! On both feet

laalaaland · 29/05/2022 20:46

Yes, but actually, it's like my big toes are too small. My second toe is longer, but in line, IYSWIM, with my other toes, but my big toes are much shorter. Same on both feet.

Yes, I think so too - either that or Mnetters are really bucking the global trend!
