I’m getting really smelly by about 2pm and it’s completely new.

I shower daily
Chanbe clothes daily
Let deodorant dry before dressing

Wtf is going on? It’s horrid 😭😭😭

They could at least write it in massive letters on the label

EmmaH2022 · 17/05/2022 10:40

Also wondering about the antibac, or anti septic, fluid.

honeyytoast · 17/05/2022 10:54

Same here, also thought it was just me lol

I find Sure roll-on really effective, especially in combination with using bar soap under my armpits and bust in the shower. Apparently bar soaps and roll-ons are recommended for hyperhidrosis (I'm not saying you have that, just that for people who sweat excessively that combo works well).

Personally fabrics also make a big difference- I much prefer 100% cotton tops, polyester makes me sweat/smell quickly even though I shower twice a day.

Ameliarosethistle · 17/05/2022 11:44

Oh they'll have changed it to just be deodorant as it's better for people's skin (but not other people's nostrils!). Apparently some oncologists still recommend that breast cancer patients avoid aluminium based anti-perspirant deodorants (nearly all anti-perspirants contain aluminium and there was some research years ago suggesting it might increase the risk of breast cancer but I think that has been disproved).

I always swear by the Mitchum solid sticks - but the sticks seem to be having a supply issue at the mo so I’m currently using the Mitchum roll-on.

I had the same issue recently with a Dove one I randomly bought when I couldn’t get hold of a Mitchum - it just didn’t work; I was stinky after a couple of hours! Back to Mitchum for me and no more problem.

dementedpixie · 17/05/2022 11:49

I dont really rate Mitchum and the roll on takes forever to dry

Lacedwithgrace · 17/05/2022 11:59

Menopause does cause BO changes, you may find you need to use something like a mitchum stick deodorant with a spray anti-persp over the top.

Merryoldgoat · 17/05/2022 17:39

Well. Polyester top today, 25 degree heat, DH’s actual antiperspirant.

NO SMELL.

Grin

Which one was it out of interest?

This thread is so weirdly coincidental - I lost my trusty Sanex roll-on at the swimming pool last week and noticed how I'd started to smell since using the spray in the meantime. Went out to buy a replacement. Sanex roll-on yest and alas, it's now shite.

DD has great things to say about her Mitchum roll-on and she was really sweaty and hormonal before trying it.

I wonder do Mitchum do a men's roll-on? No doubt it'll be even better Hmm

DurhamDurham · 17/05/2022 17:54

I used Sanex until last year when with it changed or I did, I was so self conscious that I was getting whiffs and damp underarm by mid afternoon.

I switched over to Mitcham roll on and like other Mumsnetters I'm a convert. It's brilliant stuff, I stay dry all day long. I keep a spare roll on in my desk at work but never have to reapply these days.
I usually wait until they're on special offer then stock up, they're often £2 on Amazon.

Merryoldgoat · 17/05/2022 17:55

@JamesMartinsWaistcoat

its this one - looks like my normal but the biome bollocks has snuck on.

i’m irrationally annoyed about it.

Has Sanex changed?

I think this is the one you thought you'd bought
The new version ones are only a deodorant rather than an antiperspirant

Has Sanex changed?
Dinoteeth · 17/05/2022 17:59

Who did they use to test it?
Surely they must have tested it, why would you take a decent product and make it useless?

Why do I buy stuff in 3 for 2 deals??

I'm so glad to know I'm not alone thinking it's rubbish.
