Are nomination bracelets still popular with teens? Is pandora out?
Posting in AIBU for traffic!
Need to buy a few gifts for milestone teen birthdays & want them to be a surprise. Tiffany's is out of my price range.
Just wondering if Pandora & Nomination charm bracelets are still popular or would I be getting it horribly wrong?

I recently bought one for a ‘young person’ and she really liked it (she called me the next day to say how she loved it and her friends were saying how nice it was). It was a plainish Pandora one.

Thank you!
Was it one you could add charms to or more like a bangle/bracelet?

My kids see Pandora as "chavvy".

Ponoka7 · 07/05/2022 08:32

Can you ask their parents? One of my DD's loved Pandora, the other two wouldn't have wanted it. My youngest liked chunky silver and my middle was very classic, both still are the same.

LaTangerina · 07/05/2022 08:35

I am the parent 🙈😂
I know for sure one wouldn't want a pandora bracelet so that's why I was thinking nomination for her?
I'm just not sure if nomination is popular?
I could ask them but wanted to surprise them.

I bought my teen DSD a
nominations bracelet, she loves it and wears it all the time. Her friends have them too.

Neither are popular with my teenagers. Troll beads are more quirky and the leather one bead bracelets are very popular with my teenagers. They do a very unisex one also, this k it's called x beads.

TgTops · 07/05/2022 08:56

What's a nomination bracelet? 😊

MrsPnut · 07/05/2022 08:57

My teenager has an armful of these danielladraper.com/women/sailing-ropes mixed with some silver bangles.

And you haven't done anything to guide them away from this snobby attitude?

My teens 18 and 16 adore pandora! They have charms every birthday and both have other bits from there too

Pandora is popular for teens here, my dd and a few friends have them, I’ve got one and we bought my mum one for Christmas.

my dd has commented on the nomination bracelet but says because it’s not silver it puts her off.

My dd 13 is going to a 'naice' school and does the associated 'highbrow' hobbies and she loves her Pandora bracelet 🤔. This despite being given custom made, precious jewellery from her aunt, a well known jewellery artist who exhibits internationally.

What jewellery do your DDs wear @edenhills ?

These are lovely, have added to DD2's Santa list.

OP it really depends on your DD's. DD2 has 3 Pandora bracelets & a multitude of charms but DD2 thinks they're tacky but she's not a big jewellery wearer anyway.

MayBeee · 07/05/2022 09:17

I think it ends today but Pandora are doing a 3 for 2 offer . You could buy the bracelet and two charms with 1 charm free .

KittenKong · 07/05/2022 09:18

One I bought is like a plain ‘rope’ with what looks like a locket. So it can be as plain or as fancy (with added ‘charms’) as she wants.

I think this thread proves it's impossible to ask the actual teenager who you are buying for. They have their own likes and dislikes just like the rest of us.

'Do women in their forties like Joules?'
Some do. Some don't

babanod · 07/05/2022 10:21

I’m in my early 20s and remember even a few years ago that nomination bracelets seemed to have died out (personally I find them a bit gauche ngl). Pandora is the lesser of two evils there for me.. I think it’s a pain in the arse to keep having to buy charms and shit for them as well. Each to their own though, depends on her personal style! Personally I love etsy and birthstone jewellery, there’s some lovely stuff on there (affordable too!!)☺️ I think dainty jewellery is really popular atm

What do you mean "it's impossible to ask the actual teenager your buying for" @user56785

Sorry I meant the opposite. Hadn't had my cup of tea when I wrote that.

You need to ask her. Grin
