I asked SIL what she’d like for her birthday. Handcream was the reply, not something I buy myself. So I’d love your recommendations, nothing crazy expensive, but up to £20 budget.

I like Bodyshop hemp hand cream. I have very dry hands and need a pretty serious hand cream to stop them from cracking all the time. If I was looking for something a bit luxe for myself or for a gift I'd go for Crabtree and Evelyn Renew and Nourish hand cream or L'Occtaine En Provence Shea Butter Handcream. Both do the job really well, smell amazing but not overpowering and feel a bit less functional than the bodyshop one!

Another vote for l’occitane and you can always get them the key for Christmas as a stocking filler if they like it

Soap and glory hand food. Less than £10 IIRC so you could get her something else from the range to go with it.

In terms of effectiveness, the body shop hemp hand cream is amazing (also the Aldi dupe is great) but it's not exactly a luxury gift!

I was given some Hand and Nail cream by Siabann, its got lots of luxurious ingredients and lovely fresh juniper and lime essential oils. I reordered from their website and have given it as gifts to other people who have liked it too.

the aldi own brand lacura one with glycerin is the best and 79p a tube! Their multi intensive serum is fantastic too.

L'occatain is the best in my opinion . They often do mini sets in a gift tin etc as well
