I asked SIL what she’d like for her birthday. Handcream was the reply, not something I buy myself. So I’d love your recommendations, nothing crazy expensive, but up to £20 budget.

Body shop Hemp Cream, it's fabulous.
I am not a fan of the Body Shop usually but have to say this is the best hand cream I have used

WellTidy · 04/05/2022 20:43

I’ve used loads of diffferent ones but I don’t think you can heat occitane 20% Shea hand cream. You can buy the 30ml for £8. They do other hand creams, lots of them, it the ones with Shea butter are by far the best.

Kiehls salve

MaggieFS · 04/05/2022 20:46

No 7 P&P. It's surprisingly hard to find a hand cream which is anti ageing and has SPF which is daft given how much our hands are exposed to the elements and are known to age and give away our age!

However it's very much a practical choice not a luxurious choice (but it is nice) so maybe not for a present.

Crazycatlady202020 · 04/05/2022 20:47

I haven't found a better one than the Kiehl's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. It is £22 on their website but other websites have it for less at the moment

Floralnomad · 04/05/2022 20:50

L’Occitane , you really can’t beat it .

HerMajestyTheQuern · 04/05/2022 20:50

Amazing, thanks so much for your suggestions, they all sound lovely. I’ve hit 40 so maybe I need some too!

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour hand cream is my absolute favourite one.
Expensive but lasts ages and is well worth every penny.

I also like Decleor, that was gifted to me funnily enough, that also lasted for ages.

Crabtree and Evelyn do a more budget friendly range.

I have severe exczema on my hands and all of these are great for it. (I use them all on rotation)

gobbynorthernbird · 04/05/2022 20:50

Clarins do a lovely one.

Mercedesbenz2022 · 04/05/2022 20:52

Loccitane as per previous poster mentioned
large size is approx £20

AmbushedByCake1 · 04/05/2022 20:52

Another vote for the L'occitane Shea range. Luxurious and effective.

TigerDroveAgain · 04/05/2022 20:52

Rituals Kitchen hand cream is fantastic and not too pricey. i think it’s the best I’ve used although Cowshed are also good

FlickyCrumble · 04/05/2022 20:54

Clarins for gifting. Aveeno for all day use. Flexitol hand balm for split and dry skin.

PermanentTemporary · 04/05/2022 20:55

I really love Kiehl's richly hydrating hand cream with grapefruit. I think its a bit cheaper than the ultimate salve.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/05/2022 21:03

Atrixo is brilliant, but probably sadly not suitable for a gift Sad

Inkyblue123 · 04/05/2022 21:05

OooohAhhhh · 04/05/2022 21:09

Another vote here for Body shop hemp hand cream. Read the reviews online.
It's fantastic, I won't use anything else.

MMAMPWGHAP · 04/05/2022 21:12
