Another Update on the Family Sex Show

From the Daily Mail.

How COULD this sex show for children get £40,000 of public cash? mol.im/a/10745003 via dailym.ai/android

Finally, confirmation as to who the "specialists in sex education" were. Words utterly fail me.

Hasn’t it been cancelled now? What’s the point of these repeated updates about it?

It's exhausting

Hasn’t it been cancelled now? What’s the point of these repeated updates about it?

Quite.
HQ really need to stop these endless threads now about something that's not even happening.
Posters are whipping themselves into a frenzy and speculating about something which sure, should not have been allowed to go ahead.
So it wasn't. And didn't. And isn't.

Inklingpot · 23/04/2022 07:07

It’s irritating enough when people misuse AIBU ‘for traffic’ for mundane crap but it’s getting really fucking annoying to see posters with a personal hobby horse keep using it to whip up outrage.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/04/2022 07:10

Thank you for that update. I appreciate it. Unlike the posters above, I feel we need as much sunlight as possible on this. I don't want taxpayers to fund a theatre production and associated website for families and schoolchildren involving full frontal nudity and explicit sexual content. I want to know it won't happen again. I want to know how it happened this time. I want assurance over the workshops these deluded young people are putting on in schools.

Norma27 · 23/04/2022 07:10

There is plenty of reason to keep talking about these groomers. The safeguarding of our children cannot be talked about enough.
This group of groomers are still taking about a show for a special invited audience.
It is very troubling that some people think we should just up. NO.

Norma27 · 23/04/2022 07:11

Talking about safeguarding children is not ‘mundane crap’ as so eloquently put above.

heldinadream · 23/04/2022 07:12

Few things are more important than the protection of children. Thanks for the update OP. Lots of people who feel they need to be aware of this, and know how it's being investigated.

MichelleScarn · 23/04/2022 07:13

Something that has carried over from the old site for those who are bizarrely annoyed... you don't have to read threads that don't interest you!

MichelleScarn · 23/04/2022 07:14

And thanks for update op.

Bit attention-seeky to post a whole new thread when there’s already one running.

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 23/04/2022 07:20

It hasn't been cancelled. They're still intending to perform it to a specially invited audience and still carping on about it on social media to try to hawk it to venues with less rigorous safeguarding standards.

AssignedBlobbyAtBirth · 23/04/2022 07:21

Thanks for this. It is so important to know what is getting funded. They will try again I am sure

Norma27 · 23/04/2022 07:25

@Inklingpot the more posts the better. People need to be aware of what is happening.
I am not sure why you are so offended by people talking about safeguarding children.

Thisisit2022 · 23/04/2022 07:31

I think it's really important to highlight who counts as "specialists in sex education" that nearly resulted in this show widely going ahead. I make no apology for it.

OP posts:
rocketfromthecrypt · 23/04/2022 07:35

To the people moaning about the thread: presumably you knew what it was about before you clicked on it? Why not just ignore it if you aren't interested?

partystress · 23/04/2022 07:44

I think this show would still be going if wider attention had not been drawn to it via MN. That’s the case for other issues where progress has been made too - sometimes through official campaigns, sometimes through lots of small individual actions.

in a society in which so much of the commercial and institutional power rests with people who have zero interest in protecting women and children (and includes many who seek to exploit women and children), I for one am grateful for a forum populated largely by knowledgeable women who are willing to fight for what is right. Some at considerable personal cost.

The occasional repetitive thread is worth putting up with for that.

Moochio · 23/04/2022 07:45

I'm not clicking on the link but where is this public money from?

Moochio · 23/04/2022 07:47

Ah found it. The national lottery via the Art council. I'm never playing the lottery again.

Norma27 · 23/04/2022 07:47

Exactly. Without these threads drawing attention to the groups grooming our children, more shows like this would go ahead.
Thank you for the thread op.

Runningslow · 23/04/2022 07:49

I’m intrigued by what happens to the money now it’s cancelled. Presumably a lot of it has been spent already. The Art Council really should look into why the money was allocated in the first place.
From their Twitter page -it definitely didn’t sound as though they’d given up putting on the show.

Dinosauria · 23/04/2022 07:52

The title could not be more clear, so people need not read it. As above it has not been cancelled it has been paused, they obviously hope the heat will die down and then they can get back to teaching children to Google masterbating animals and then draw the picture, and encouraging children to look at grown men's dicks.

The school of sexuality needs looking into, as well.

Thisisit2022 · 23/04/2022 07:57

The school of sexuality needs looking into, as well.

This is what prompted this thread. It's dangerous that this show or indeed any workshop or promotion can just add a throwaway comment that the right people have been consulted, but who are these people? Who regulates them? What is their agenda?

Don't forget that PIE (the now disbanded Paedophile Information Exchange) also received grants from the Home Office.

@Inklingpot @NippyWoowoo Amd all others it is not cancelled. They are still performing this to children. This is not not me clutching pearls. This is sexual grooming of five year olds and it is wrong.

ps I am not a church goer not h a mosque attendee, I’m in a mixed marriage, I’m working class and yet I still believe these things.
