Posting for traffic- is Edinburgh Premier Inn Hub adult only??

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 11:36

When I search for 2 adults the hub choices come up

When I search for me and 10 year old ds they don't - I can't find anything online and the hub doesn't have a live chat

Need to book this morning!

it assumes if you have kids that you want a family room, which they don't have in Hubs.

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 11:48

@SausagePourHomme we.would just be sharing a double anyway. I'm wondering we'd be turned away if I just booked for 2 adults 🤔

From a quick Google it looks like they only have double rooms as standard so I assume that if you're searching for an adult and child then it won't throw out the Hub as a choice as there isn't an option for separate beds

Mrsjayy · 10/04/2022 11:51

You are likely to get turned away if there is 3 of you instead of 2.

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 11:52

There'd just be me and ds 😀

They do have a room that can be separated into twins though - but I think you need to phone them for it. Its an accessible room. DD and I stayed there a couple of years ago.

SherryPalmer · 10/04/2022 11:54

Can you still book premier inn over the phone? I’ve done that in the past and they have been able to do bookings that can’t be done online (in my case 1 adult and 3 kids).

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 11:54

Sorry, wasn't very clear in my op

Only me.and my 10 year old would be staying

We'd be happy to share a bed

We stayed at the York place premier inn in Edinburgh and it was great!

The staff were really friendly and its location was perfect!

Buses & trams stop right outside and there's a small entertainment centre a few mins walk with restaurants, cinema, bowling and a few pubs

I'd def recommend it

ReflectiveJournal · 10/04/2022 11:55

That was the one near the Fruitmarket by the way. I've stayed in the one near Haymarket too, but only in a double. Both lovely though and great value for money.

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 11:59

The York place has no availability sadly

Looking at the hub as it's dirt cheap. We literally want to drop our bag and explore 😀

Well I clearly didn't read your OP properly sorry Blush I think booking for 2 people would be OK can you email them ?

SausagePourHomme · 10/04/2022 12:02

workyticket - i think it's fine if you're going to share the double. Nothing on the hub information mentions adult only.

SnotMikeUpPuffedHe · 10/04/2022 12:04

I've found that sometimes you can book online, then phone the hotel direct with your booking reference to do any tweaking.

You could try booking over the phone but they sometimes say it's cheaper online so direct you to that first.

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 12:04

That's ok 🥰

Nope - just an 0333 phone number listed!

Mrsjayy · 10/04/2022 12:06

Which hub is it ?

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 12:07

The Royal Mile one

They won't turn you away, it's literally just a standard search algorithm that if you search for 2 adults then it shows every option including double beds in the search results but if you search for 1 adult/1 child then it only brings up options with separate beds and won't allow double bed only options to show in the results. As this hotel is pretty much only double rooms (except their accessible room) it excludes it from an adult/child search but that doesn't stop you booking it as long as you're OK with sharing.

Here is their direct dial number.

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 12:13

@Mrsjayy thank you - it's sold out now as I've been dithering 🙈🙈

Just book for two adults, it will be fine. It won't alter the price, unless you include breakfast (I wouldn't though there are plenty of nice places to have breakfast in Edinburgh).

Mrsjayy · 10/04/2022 12:17

Try the haymarket one

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 12:19

That's still available. My train is to waverley so looking at how far it is out 😫

OP posts:
BoredZelda · 10/04/2022 12:21

Not sure when you are looking for, but if there is nowhere in the centre, Edinburgh Park is also a good option and will be cheaper than the city centre. It is right next to the tram in to town.

BoredZelda · 10/04/2022 12:22

Most trains to Waverley also stop at haymarket.
