When I search for 2 adults the hub choices come up

When I search for me and 10 year old ds they don't - I can't find anything online and the hub doesn't have a live chat

Need to book this morning!

But, you will also get a tram from princes street to haymarket. It’s about half an hours walk between them.

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 12:25

Going Sunday and Monday night (staying with pals.in a different part of Scotland for a could of days beforehand 😀

Haymaket is only 5ish minutes on the train from Waverly Station its literally the next stop , try Motel One they are similar to the hubs but a bit nicer I'm not sure how much city centre would be .

Mrsjayy · 10/04/2022 12:28

Are you travelling south or North

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 12:31

So... we're going from Newcastle to Fife for a few days then coming back from Fife to stay in Edinburgh on the Sunday and Monday of next weekend 😀

I've booked my train, could I just add another stop on when the conductor comes to check?

Happy to stay a bit further out if getting into Edinburgh is easy.

I've been a fair few times on hen weekends etc but me and ds want to sightsee 😀

Sunday and Monday are still showing available at royal mile, but haymarket is cheaper. Even if you factor in a tram day ticket at 4.50 per day. Ten minute walk to the tram stop from Waverley, and the tram from haymarket to town is 5 minutes.

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 12:33

@BoredZelda they are until I click through then it says sold out 😫

If you want to do premier inn, haymarket is the cheapest available and would be a good option.

Mrsjayy · 10/04/2022 12:34

It depends where the train is going but if you get off at waverly and get the train to haymaket the hub Hotel is just beside the train station ,

BoredZelda · 10/04/2022 12:36

Which train have you booked?

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 12:37

Actually I've not booked the Fife to Edinburgh bit as that is just a cheap on the day ticket.

I can easily get off at haymaket

Just trying to decide whether to throw an extra few quid at a central hotel for ease

Seems to be ok for haymarket?

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 12:40

Thursday Newcastle to Edinburgh booked. Will jump on the Fife train at waverley and travel on.

Sunday need to get from Fife to Edinburgh Hotel

Tuesday train is booked from waverley to Newcastle

You could call the haymarket hub on 0131 357 4516 (I think!)

Most trains from Fife stop at haymarket first, but it is really quick and easy to get from haymarket to Waverley.

Newnormal99 · 10/04/2022 12:48

Premier inn are really responsive on Fb messenger. I would ask on there.

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 12:55

The Royal.Mile one popped back up so I've booked it! Thanks so much everyone 😀😀

Every train I've ever got from Fife into Edinburgh has stopped at Haymarket before Waverley so you'll be fine there OP.

BoredZelda · 10/04/2022 13:02

Enjoy!

Mrsjayy · 10/04/2022 13:05

Yaay Smile have a lovely time.

faw2009 · 10/04/2022 13:14

We just came back from a trip to Edinburgh. It was fantastic, what a beautiful city!

Workyticket · 10/04/2022 13:26

Me too - I'm so excited to spend some.1 on 1 time with ds.

I've worked so much recently with shitty inspections at work etc that I've missed proper time with him. Dh has DIY plans so it'll just be be and ds for the first time in ages Star

Brilliant! The Royal Mile one isn't actually on the Royal Mile, but that means it is only a few minutes walk from Waverly. Save yourself a walk by going out of the station to the Market Street side.

Have a brilliant time. DH is there this weekend for work and I am very jealous.

fizzypop100 · 10/04/2022 14:22

Can recommend the Hotel Novotel Edinburgh Park. It also has a pool and is right next to the tram

Oh - thank you for the tip 🥰

I'm so happy to be going with my little side kick. 💓

Camera obscura planned so far and maybe the new Dumbledore film one evening if I can find a cinema

I stayed in Edinburgh hub with daughter (10) - had to share a double but that was fine. Very nice breakfast downstairs- porridge!
