Just as the title says.

Noah Donohoe disappeared coming home from school, his body was found in a storm drain without his clothes.

His mother can not get answers on why the police decided, immediately that there was no four play and us being blocked from seeing 4 files by the police.

She says On the day Noah was found, before Noah was formally identified, the Police did a media release stating that there was ‘No Foul Play’ involved.I ask, if the police are so sure that ‘No Foul Play’ was involved, why are the police now trying to stop me, as Noah’s mummy, getting four files of information on Noah’s investigation?

Surely I am not unreasonable to think this isn't ok and that most of use would want to know what had happened to our child?

This is an overview of what has happened so far.

@Yiayoula

Bumping for Active. So much about Noah’s case just doesn’t make any sense . Hope his Mum gets the answers she deserves. It’s not too much to ask, surely.
You wouldn't think so, would you?
Yiayoula · 06/04/2022 17:58

No more than you’d think posters would report or attempt to derail a thread about the loss of a child.
Strange.

TheRealMrsMac · 06/04/2022 17:58

Maybe, @Turningpurple

It's the first time I've seen them hide a petition link.

TheRealMrsMac · 06/04/2022 18:06

Very true, @Yiayoula
There are some sad people in the world.

Yiayoula · 06/04/2022 18:08

Does anyone have any idea how Mumsnet algorithms are supposed to work, please ?

TheRealMrsMac · 06/04/2022 18:14

Going back to the original OP:

YANBU, of course, and I don't think Fiona will rest until she does know. Would any of us rest? I hope I wouldn't if it was my DC.

We have has a couple if different explanations. I think its one of those things that no one seems sure about.

No we wouldn't. My brother suffered an injustice at the hands of the police. Mum fought for 18 years. Unfortunately she died just before we heard he would be getting that justice.

It was nowhere near as awful but has hugely impacted dbros life, negatively. But he is alive. And he was an adult. But mum didn't stop fighting with him.

So no, I can imagine a great many of us, would be just the same.

It is every parent’s nightmare. For your precious child to walk out of the door and never come home again.

Please help Fiona uncover the truth about what happened to her darling boy.

Justice for Noah.

MadeForThis · 06/04/2022 23:12

My heart breaks for Fiona. I hope she gets the answers she deserves.

Turningpurple · 07/04/2022 06:12

Thank you to everyone who has signed the petition.

That's the thing for me. Imagining this had happened to my child. What if?

Noah could be my child or your child. Anybody and everybody's child.

There has to be justice for Noah and the truth for Fiona.

The explanations have differed, as @Turningpurple says.

When they moved my AIBU thread over to Petitions and Activism, I was advised by MNHQ to 'bump it hourly to keep getting it into Active'. We now know that doesn't work with that thread. More often than not, it takes 5 posts/bumps to even get it into Active, when other threads only take one post. More often than not, it then suddenly drops out of Active like a stone, when other threads gradually work their way down the list, often remaining in Active without further posts for 40 minutes or so. That's not just happening at busy or quiet times. It seems to be how the algorithms have been 'set' for certain threads. I understand that 'Tech' can sort it out, but if anything it has got worse - even harder to get it into Active, not easier.

This thread seems to be a case in point too, because it can take 2-3 posts to get it in Active, again unlike other threads.

You'd think that these threads are about exactly the sort of subject a site predominantly for mothers and families would want to get behind, wouldn't you?

TheRealMrsMac · 07/04/2022 08:47

And after those 3 posts, this thread has still not appeared in Active.

TheRealMrsMac · 07/04/2022 08:57

Let's see if a 5th post will work.

This morning, 303,769 people are standing up for Noah and standing alongside Fiona.

Will you do the same by signing the petition?
