I'm just feeling a bit bogged down by some pretty awful things that have happened lately. There are actually lots of good things in my life right now but the cumulative weight of the bad things seems to be taking over. I'd like to hear some nice things to know that the world isn't full of bad. Tell me what's good in your life right now 😊

YANBU!
It's ok to think of something positive , even in these difficult/ terrible times around the world.
I sat in a cafe with the doors open , fantastic weather , and a lady told me I was the first person to sit there and the window being open this year Smile

Sprig1 · 23/03/2022 17:58

The sun is shining and we will have lambs being born soon (ewes due from early April). Everyone loves lambs!

Ragwort · 23/03/2022 18:02

Lovely sunny day, lunch out with my really nice team (& as they know the organisation doesn't pay for my lunch, only their's they had a whip round to secretly cover the cost of my lunch Smile - they are mostly pensioners so that was very kind), friends coming round tonight for a meeting but it will involve lots of chatting and wine, two days off work coming up, nice Mothers Day planned celebrating with my wonderful 89 year old mum, few days away by the beach next week .... lots of good things, I feel very blessed Smile.

Windows open here, too, and loving the fresh air! I'm looking forward to having an easy remainder of the week (I hope), with plenty of time to settle down with a good book and some caramel/chocolate sweets, with a dog at my side. Planning to do some sewing and crocheting, too, while listening to podcasts and favourite music.

I have Covid and my DD (20) and DP have been really kind and caring towards me.

ssd · 23/03/2022 18:20

I went swimming today, nice and calming, £3.60. I recommend it.

SergeiL · 23/03/2022 18:21

My garden. I haven’t been able to enjoy it for the last couple of years because of renovations. In the autumn, I actually planned ahead and planted bulbs and stuff. Things are springing into life and those buds and leaves are making me so happy.

PositiveLife · 23/03/2022 18:23

The weather means I've been able to walk with Dd1 yesterday and Dd2 today so a bit of quality time with each of them.

I finally managed to treat myself to the jacket I've wanted for hiking for ages. It has been out of stock in my size for at least 5 months across the UK.

fromagreatheight · 23/03/2022 18:23

My dog is snuggled in his bed making contented groans.

I missed my pottery class today and my teacher sent me a voice note to say she'd missed me being there.

It's chilly here today but I'm sitting outside under a blanket and enjoying the cold air against my face.

In my tough, busy, overwhelmed moments, I like to remember that somewhere in the world right now, a blue whale is carving its way through the darkness of the ocean, and the idea of that brings me a very odd but very deep joy.

Finfintytint · 23/03/2022 18:25

My contract at work ends soon and I have the usual tension about what happens next with regards to applying for new jobs. It’s pretty stressful but…….I’m getting hens! We’re building a run and a hen house at the moment and I am beyond excited.

Shopboughtmeatballs · 23/03/2022 18:26

My DD2, who has suffered horribly with depression and anxiety all her teen years seems to be turning a corner. She's massively reined in her drinking and is achieving things she never thought possible as a result.

ShadowPuppets · 23/03/2022 18:26

7 weeks until I meet DS who is kicking away like a demon. We weren’t trying for #2 and the fact I’ve gone from ‘this is a financial/career/relationship/life disaster’ to ‘sod all that, this is the best thing ever’ in 7 months is a sign that anything can change and sometimes bad things turn to good Smile

Onionbhajisandwich · 23/03/2022 18:54

My greenhouse is clean and empty and ready to be filled Grin

TinaTurtle · 23/03/2022 19:00

I am really enjoying an early evening walk round the block. I love seeing the daily progression of the daffodils, magnolias, etc ... DH loves the fact people's curtains aren't closed yet and you can get a great gawp into their living rooms Shock

MrsGHarrison87 · 23/03/2022 19:01

We all had a great time on the park after school in the sunshine. Now I'm all relaxed on the couch while DH is tickling my feet. Then taking the kids to bed and will have a few glasses of wine.

TinaTurtle · 23/03/2022 19:01

And making plans to see family and friends at Easter and the May Bank Holidays.

Blueeyedgirl21 · 23/03/2022 19:05

I work with older teens and they have been pretty awful recently -lots going in our setting fighting, safeguarding issues, mental health down the pan, sending them home with sickness, load more than usual of normally healthy kids ending up in hospital with bad bugs and stuff. The past two days of sun have been ace - they’ve been outside in the fresh air, kicking a ball around, generally looking rosy cheeked and much happier. I think this winter has been so hard with covid, other illnesses, relentless weather and storms, everything going on in the world, it’s nice to see young people out enjoying themselves and getting some vitamin d

Kolani · 23/03/2022 19:07

I don't have green fingers but this year about 60 Tulips all germinating in my garden right now. I've tried to plant flowers over the years and only 2 of them have done well, so I'm really excited to see all the tulips all coming up. I go out everyday to see how much they've grown and can't wait for them all to bloom. DH doesn't know I've planted them and will be shocked Grin.

guestusername · 23/03/2022 19:09

The magnolia tree in full bloom in my front garden 🥰

elastamum · 23/03/2022 19:10

DP has COVID. We are in South Africa on a work trip and the sun is shining. No idea what we are going to do about getting home, but there are far worse places to get stuck in.

Kolani · 23/03/2022 19:12

@elastamum Hope your DP gets well soon.

lanbro · 23/03/2022 19:13

I've spent 4 years building a business, we survived through covid and now we're really thriving. I've worked so hard, I love what I do and I've been told by 4 different people this week how proud they are of me, really makes it all worthwhile Smile

ModerationInEverything · 23/03/2022 19:15

I got an email offer for 2 4 1 tickets to a musical at our local theatre. DD will love it and it's usually too expensive. We are really excited.

EdithStourton · 23/03/2022 19:15

I'm just enjoying the spring. Primroses out in the woods.

BoodleBug51 · 23/03/2022 19:18

It's been amazing walking the dogs the last few mornings, the sun has been a huge ball in the sky. The hawthorn is coming out, we've got lambs in the fields already and it really felt like spring walking this afternoon.
