Would you be bothered to do a 2 hour club after work?

Work a 9 hour shift, then get in around 5:45pm. It's a local class that's 7:30-9:30pm.

I feel like i should be putting in the effort but I just can't be bothered with a 2 hour club after a day at work, plus I've got shopping and cooking to do

I don't need to go to bed until around 11:30pm but I like having time at home. If it were an hour class I'd be much more likely. Would you do it?

Back in work 9am tomorrow too

N0 chance I commuted for years was simply whacked after that.

Nelliephant1 · 14/03/2022 18:05

Not for me I'm afraid

Cremeegg456 · 14/03/2022 18:05

I have a 45 minute commute, well it should be 30 ish but the bus is always late without fail. As in 10 minutes late min but up to 30 mins.

There are a lot of people there but i suppose I don't know their working situation

I have done these in the past and you do have to be motivated. I managed the ones that had a definite time frame, eg block of five weeks but less so the ongoing ones.

Firefliess · 14/03/2022 18:06

Depends how much you really want to do the club I guess? I do a few weekday evening things, but mostly ones that don't require commitment so easier to miss if I am tired from work. I did used to do a choir though that required commitment. It was tiring but also really fun so I made the effort.

SnowWhiteLobelia · 14/03/2022 18:07

No. Just dealing with daily life takes it out of me.

MondeoFan · 14/03/2022 18:07

An hour yes - 2 hours seem a bit much

ChessieFL · 14/03/2022 18:07

No. I hate doing anything in the evenings after work.

Zazdar · 14/03/2022 18:08

I wouldn’t do it starting at 7:30 pm, but I occasionally do a two hour gym session on the way home from work.

I don’t have to cook when I get in.

Taswama · 14/03/2022 18:15

Depends what it is, but 2 hours seems a lot. I did a hour and a half yoga class weekly years ago which was great but it was in the town I worked in so I didn't go home first.

Squirrelblanket · 14/03/2022 18:44

No I'm terrible at doing things in the evening. I just CBA.

Snoken · 14/03/2022 18:44

I wouldn’t. Primarily because I am not an evening person and usually asleep by 10pm. A one off I could do but I know myself well enough that I know I would drop out after a week or two.

housemaus · 14/03/2022 19:06

I'm doing a 6 month course in the evenings at the moment - 2hr once a week, 6pm - 8pm. It's fine and I'm enjoying it BUT it's online, so I don't need to go anywhere, and as PPs said, there's a fixed end date so even on weeks where I'm a bit more CBA, I know it's not forever.

nearlyspringyay · 14/03/2022 19:08

No chance. I'll pay for childcare but I'm not facilitating it!

Whetheryouthinkyoucan · 14/03/2022 19:09

Yes if it’s something I want to do, or something DC wants to do. DC have clubs 4 x a week and some of those are 2 hour sessions; I participate as a volunteer.

Likewise my own activities are 2/3 times a week, for up to 3 hours.

And yes, I work full time.

Boood · 14/03/2022 19:11

I don’t really like doing stuff after I’ve been working all day. Couple of chores, cook dinner, that’s it. I’m definitely not in the mood for socialising. Friday night is different, but during the week I just want to chill at home. Alone.

bananaboats · 14/03/2022 19:20

I'm in bed for 9.30 through the week!

Konstantine8364 · 14/03/2022 19:21

I have horses and I'm often at the farm for 2 hours in the evening after work, one night a week I also go climbing and I'm there for 2 to 2.5 hrs usually so yes for me! But for me it has to be something active, I wouldn't do something online as I'm in calls/on the laptop for work all day and I like to use my body and rest my brain in the evenings! I don't have kids though!

Glowtastic · 14/03/2022 19:24

No, once I'm home that's it, I won't go out again unless it's too take kids to their activities. I get up mega early and exercise in the morning to get it out of the way!

I don't understand the issue. You either want to do it or you don't.

Crochetcacher · 14/03/2022 19:33

Depends what the club is, exercise for 2 hours no, crochet or photography or similar yes.

If it’s not something you want to do or are too tired then no point if you are not going to enjoy it. Sounds like you are trying to justify not going, but you don’t have to do it!

Rewis · 14/03/2022 19:35

Is it an activity that I enjoy? Then yes. Something I dont want to do or am indifferent? Then no.

DinaofCloud9 · 14/03/2022 19:35

It would depend how much I wanted to do it and if it was a short term course or not.

rookiemere · 14/03/2022 19:36

It depends what it is.
I've done a couple of creative writing evening classes over the years, that I really enjoyed. They were 2 hrs per week, but only for an 8 week block so it didn't seem overwhelming.
