Mine is the starbucks hot chocolate powder that you can get in asda but am looking for others ideas. I am not really a fan of dark chocolate and sweeter the better.

@AlfieandAnnieRose they sell it at our B&M!

claireb7rg · 11/03/2022 20:27

Hot chocolat salted caramel for me 😋😋

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 11/03/2022 20:28

Costa hot chocolate if I can afford it with my shopping. If not the Aldi Belgian hot chocolate is my second favourite

confusedftb · 11/03/2022 20:32

I was going to say galaxy ripple. Then I say you said HOT chocolate. So now I say two melted ripples, stirred into hot milk and topped with cream 🤩

Chocomelon · 11/03/2022 20:33

Cafe wise I love nero but cannot recreate it at home.

GromblesofGrimbledon · 11/03/2022 20:33

Velvetiser, but never Hotel Chocolat's hot chocolate. Chop 4 squares of Lindt chocolate quite finely instead.

I like Lindt dark with a touch of sea salt but I add a little sugar to take the bitter edge off. Top with whipped cream, or better yet chocolate whipped cream, and chopped hazelnuts.

ChocolateChocolateEverywhere · 11/03/2022 20:35

I hate the really sweet stuff, dark chocolate all the way for me! Sainsbury's Taste the Difference 72% is fab.

DisforDarkChocolate · 11/03/2022 20:40

Lindt, it's fabulous and really easy to make.

saraclara · 11/03/2022 20:40

I treated myself to some Tesco finest 'chocolate flake' type hot chocolate. Don't make the same mistake. It didn't taste chocolatey at all at the strength they suggested, so I added extra. Then it was horribly horribly sweet, and still not chocolatey. The rest is going in the bin.

ButtockUp · 11/03/2022 20:43

Horlicks chocolate drink.

Livefortherain · 11/03/2022 20:43

Frothy galaxy!

Tinkletwat · 11/03/2022 20:47

Valor Spanish hot chocolate block and powder, can make it really thick and rich

Passanotherjaffacake · 11/03/2022 20:51

Clipper Hot Chocolate is really good (purple packet) for an instant which isn’t powdery. Colleague introduced me to it at work and I’m still buying it 8 years later!

MrsSkylerWhite · 11/03/2022 20:52

Hot milk and 60-70 per cent. Don’t like it too chocolatey.

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 11/03/2022 20:53

Sloanes of London is the absolute best. Game Changingly so.

For instant, it's gotta be with milk and I'd say twinings Swiss chocolate.

Or.... Nutella (or similar Choc spread, doesn't have to have hazelnut) and piping hot milk 😋

MotherofPearl · 11/03/2022 20:55

I see the Valor hot chocolate powder is available on Amazon so I'm going to splash out. I remember first trying Spanish hot chocolate in Barcelona about 20 years ago and being blown away! Thanks all!

SkylarFerris · 11/03/2022 20:56

Hotel Choclat Black Forest

fatbottomgirl67 · 11/03/2022 20:57

Knoops. They have a small chain of shops selling the best hot chocolate ever. You chose your percentage of coc o solids from 28%white up to 100%dark. Truely the best hot chocolate ever and they do mail order too!

Claire1stPost · 11/03/2022 21:16

Bewleys powder is so nice, or I love the ones from the Frank and Honest machines too

HikingforScenery · 11/03/2022 21:19

@MrsRigmarole

Twinings Swiss style. Expensive but worth every penny in my view.
Mine too! It’s divine! The children use it generously but I feel a bit mean buying them a cheaper version.

If milk is classed as hot chocolate, I love that one too.

mutleyschuckle · 11/03/2022 21:26

Cadburys made with half milk & squirt of chocolate orange hot shot 😋

fizzybootlace · 11/03/2022 21:33

Another vote for Lindt and have tried many on here. Not mega sweet, dissolves really quickly and doesn't sink to the bottom of the cup, and not too calorific for a "proper" hot chocolate. Might have one now!!

Chocolattay · 11/03/2022 21:36

Tbh I find hot chocolate powder insanely boring. And any hot chocolate in cafe’s etc. It just tastes weak like warm milk. They never put enough chocolate in.

I like a decadent, indulgent hot chocolate that is a dessert more than a drink. I will put a couple of bars of Cadbury into warm milk. Heaven. Very rarely though as it’s extremely piggish.

You can buy Costa hot chocolate powder from Tesco. The clubcard price is £2 for a tub. Tastes exactly like the cafe one.
Flyonawalk · 11/03/2022 21:46

I came on to say Knoops but a PP beat me to it.

34% milk chocolate with sea salt and lavender. Many many other options. Wonderful.
