Does anyone get that Sunday evening fear about Monday morning?

ElIie · 06/03/2022 20:14

I do, even though I’m WFH.

historygeek · 06/03/2022 20:15

Yep. We call is the "Countryfile Fear" as it hits as soon as the theme tune starts!

TheWitchCirce · 06/03/2022 20:15

Yep!

pinkpig1 · 06/03/2022 20:16

Absolutely!!

DorothyZbornakIsAQueen · 06/03/2022 20:18

Yes. I wish the weekend didn't go so fast

Hasselhoffsheadband · 06/03/2022 20:19

Yes! I don't even know why these days - I quite like my job, and I know that by about 10am on Monday morning I will be fine, the week will be up and running and it will be OK. But I still get major Sunday Night Blues.

Icemast · 06/03/2022 20:21

Yes, I enjoy my job and don't dread it but I think for me anyway its a hangover from being at school and having to finish off homework and get ready for the week. Even when I worked shifts so didn't have work Mondays or if Sunday was the start of my 4 off I felt the same.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 06/03/2022 20:22

@Icemast in the same. I'm off work tomorrow but there is still something meh about Sunday evening and impending Monday morning

didshedidntshe · 06/03/2022 20:23

Yep almost always, and I also struggle to get up before I absolutely have to because I don't want the day to begin 🤣 I wish it wasn't like this tho :(

Notsureabouttomorrow · 06/03/2022 20:24

Phew glad it’s not just me - it’s quite real for most of us then!

I used to,when I was a teacher! Now...I practically skip into work! I LOVE it!! Best decision ever! No amount of summer holidays could convince me to go back to teaching!!

Mummadeze · 06/03/2022 20:26

Yes :( Sitting here with it right now. Doesn’t help that it is my second week back at the office and I know I have to get up at 6am and take three trains to work. Wish I could do Monday’s at home :(

INeedNewShoes · 06/03/2022 20:27

I used to when I worked in a workplace with tons of nasty politics going on.

Nowadays I'm freelance and skint but don't get that dread on a Monday morning!

galacticpixels · 06/03/2022 20:29

Yep. I used to think it was because I didn't like my job. I have a new job now that I DO like, it doesn't cause me too much stress, and I get to work from home - yet every Sunday afternoon that dread creeps in. I think I just love my weekends so much haha.

OldWivesTale · 06/03/2022 20:29

@apprenticewage - what do you do now if you don't mind me asking. I'm a teacher and looking to do something else maybe...

Tess3 · 06/03/2022 20:31

I've had this for years since secondary school in fact im now approaching 40. Always came on the minute i heard the heartbeat theme start.. i avoided it for years by doing shift work but now have been doing 9am-5pm m-f for a the best part of a year and it's settled in again 😔

Nothavingfunrightnow · 06/03/2022 20:34

I always have Sunday night blues, even though I love my job. I also never ever sleep well on a Sunday night. That just makes Mondays worse!

apprenticewage · 06/03/2022 20:34

@OldWivesTale I reverted back to my second option when I was 18 that I never followed and I'm in the middle of a degree apprenticeship in a QC Micro lab in pharmaceuticals. It's just where I'm supposed to be. I should have done it first time round!

Pyewhacket · 06/03/2022 20:35

Nope, doesn't make any difference to me : I've worked sift patterns since I qualified at 21.

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 06/03/2022 20:39

Not as much since I changed jobs to be honest.

I used to dread going in at my last place but that was pure hatred of the place and the people in jt. I'd be miserable, not sleep and sometime feel physically ill.

Now it's more "meh another busy week" as I like my job and the company.

Sparklingbrook · 06/03/2022 20:43

I work shifts. I actually have tomorrow off because I'm not back in until Tuesday (but I worked an early yesterday).

I very much had the Sunday night dread throughout school when I was bullied and when I had a job role I hated though.

DixonD · 06/03/2022 20:44

@historygeek

I used to get this when I went to school, but for me it’s the Antiques Roadshow tune. It still triggers me now at 39!
Mummy1608 · 06/03/2022 20:45

I've had it in the past but not in my current job.

If you feel this way every Sunday it's a sign you need to change jobs. Don't just put up with being unhappy.

stuntbubbles · 06/03/2022 20:47

Yes but then I reduced my days and although I still get the Monday night fear because I start work on Tuesday, it’s a lot less prevalent. I’m broke now though.

Donson · 06/03/2022 20:49

I work for myself now, so no!
But 100% when I was commuting/full time
