I said to DH the other night I wonder whether the SAS might be sent in. He said they couldn't. On my phone news the next day it said SAS boots are on the ground. I take this to mean they are there.

I was thinking as well that the SAS could possibly be there. As well as the SBS. Wonder if any other countries have their elite forces on the ground.

Can't easily get to Putin, but it's all 'getting to him' (World Judo cut his nuts off for starters) and he will eventually destroy himself; though his own coterie will probs do it first aka et tu Brute or the Army will 'coup'.

I do think, if no inklings of such things are heard by those that listen within the next week, then the West has to strike in some 'forceful' way.

100% agree @welcometothechaos. I think the west needs to intervene, but I am also terrified of us being nuked by Russia. Putin has warned us this will happen if we intervene.

I saw a picture of Putin sitting at a table surrounded by women today. What a contrast from the pics we've seen of him sitting 40 metres away from his inner circle. Shame one of those women couldn't have blown a poisoned dart in his direction. I keep thinking of Gadaffi and Saddam Hussein and how they died. They were all powerful and unassailable...until they weren't.

A bit off-piste here (and not intended as bad taste humour) but I'd lay money on this summer's 'fast fashion' style being Ukrainian-inspired; lots of knock-off embroidered shirts, dirndls and be-ribboned, plastic flower headpieces.

I heard on R4 today that someone had 'fashioned' a little yellow/blue brooch out of cardboard and pinned it to their coat.

Well that will certainly 'put Putin in his place' won't it.

Judging by the vast distances he seems to keep from his advisors, even his generals, I’d imagine it’s not as simple as dropping something in his dinner, spraying something in his vicinity, or sticking him with something. Remember, he’s KGB - he knows all the tricks and he’s probably invented a fair few new ones over the years.

Why can't the world come together and stop this!!!! I can't stop watching and reading in horror. Iv now just seen an 18m old die on the news tonight. What is happening in 2022??? Surely the world shouldn't be going through this now???

One issue to address then is who fills the power vacuum ?

Pretty much, as unfortunate as it is, sometimes the question is , is it better the people that's already in power vs the ones who may be a useful asset to the West ?
