To ask the best cream for chapped lips

I don't normally put anything on my lips at all. Ever. Last week I did (friend gave me some Body Shop lip balm). My lips are now a cracked ball of pain. Blood, throbbing. Pain. I can't smile. I can't eat without eyes watering. Is post a photo but it would require a trigger warning.
Any recommendations for miracle cream??? I'm desperate! Thanks!

I use a tiny dab of Neutrogena unscented concentrated hand cream. I find it very good, very gentle.

ChrissyPlummer · 07/02/2022 18:31

Aquaphor or Blistex Intensive moisturiser. I bite and pick my lips and these sort me out.

Andariego · 07/02/2022 18:32

Lanisoh, marketed as a breastfeeding product but works great on cracked lips (and hands) too

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 07/02/2022 18:33

Burts' Bees.

Lightning020 · 07/02/2022 18:34

Sudocrem on last thing at night. The sore skin will be gone in the morning. Or nearly gone. In which case repeat.

Then Vaseline 3 times daily to maintain

Boopeedoop · 07/02/2022 18:34

Blistex

Lightning020 · 07/02/2022 18:35

Sudocrem even works for cold sores.

Soubriquet · 07/02/2022 18:35

Blistex.

La Roche Posay cicaplast balm www.boots.com/la-roche-posay-cicaplast-lips-10237662
The best healing lip treatment I have used, and I used to get terrible cracked lips in winter

ohidoliketobe · 07/02/2022 18:36

Carmex

PickAndChooseMe · 07/02/2022 18:36

Blistex relief cream

44PumpLane · 07/02/2022 18:36

I get angular chelitis (cracks at the corners of my lips and under my cupids bow because of low iron levels) and balms that actively moisturise are Palmers Cocoa Butter lip balm stick (very inexpensive and widely available), Caudalie lip balm and Elizabeth arsen Eight Hour Cream.

Also the Lanisoh is very good.

Useyourfork · 07/02/2022 18:37

Lanolin based nipple cream.

Okbye · 07/02/2022 18:38

My swear by ride or die lip balm is the Forever Living Aloe Lips (no I don’t sell it, I just love the stuff!) you can get it off Amazon and I’m NEVER without at least 2 tubes.
Slather it on before bed and your lips will be healed in the morning😀

MirrieDancer · 07/02/2022 18:39

Coconut oil

ignatiusjreilly · 07/02/2022 18:42

Nipple cream is perfect for this, but you don't need to buy the expensive ones. A cheap brand will do the same job.

O'Keeffe's overnight lip repair is good too.

I’ve suffered with chapped lips my whole life. The only pro is that I thought I looked quite pretty with bright red lips as a teen…

Used sudocream (stops them from getting worse) Vaseline soothes temporarily and just generic lip balms. I found Carmex last year after trying some and it immediately helped! Not does it immediately soothes which is lovely it bloody well heals. Within a day of using it my lips feel better. It’s so good I stop using it for a week as I don’t need it and then the chapped lips are back.

hm1610 · 07/02/2022 18:44

Blistex relief cream, it was discontinued for a short period but now available again in semi chem and home bargains I believe!

Whatwouldnanado · 07/02/2022 18:47

Camilosan (sp?) nipple cream.

User0610134049 · 07/02/2022 18:50

Eucerin Aquaphor
Deffo the best - has some lanolin in it (like Lansinoh)

Do not use Vaseline

3peassuit · 07/02/2022 18:52

Carmex.

Oh thank you for this, I've I've hunting it down and was convinced that it was now obsolete! I shall get myself to one of these shops ASAP and stock up!
MazzleDazzle · 07/02/2022 18:58

CARMEX!

A friend of mine eventually had to go to the Dr as her lips were in a terrible mess. He recommended Carmex as it actually heals lips. Most lip balms bring short term relief, but make your lips drier in the long term, so you’re trapped in a never ending cycle of applying more, then the lips dry out, so you apply more… and so on.

I only ever use carmex and its rare that I have to use it. A few applications and my lips are perfect again.

hm1610 · 07/02/2022 18:58

Your welcome, I was breaking my heart to my friend and she found it in home bargains and stocked up for me after I'd googled and found it listed for £60 on ebayGrin

MeanderingGently · 07/02/2022 18:58

Nothing better than Vaseline in my opinion. I use it every night before bed and never have any trouble. When I lived in Scandinavia I used it in the winter when temperatures were -17 or even -20 degrees, never had chapped lips even though outdoors a lot!
