To ask the best cream for chapped lips

I don't normally put anything on my lips at all. Ever. Last week I did (friend gave me some Body Shop lip balm). My lips are now a cracked ball of pain. Blood, throbbing. Pain. I can't smile. I can't eat without eyes watering. Is post a photo but it would require a trigger warning.
Any recommendations for miracle cream??? I'm desperate! Thanks!

Blistex

This one, you don't need six packs though Grin

Oh fantastic!!! Thank you all so much.

The only one I have in the house to hand is Sudocrem so I'll slather that on tonight. (who knew?? Not me!) I may take before and after pics!

I'll nip out at lunch time tomorrow and invest in some of the above. Is it Lanolin which is the cure all then?
Also what's in Carmex which makes it the business?

Oooh I also have Vaseline in the house! What to try first. Maybe a different one on each lip??

This reminds me that in the 90s there was a growing concern of girls becoming addicted to lip balm. My mum warned me that the more you used them, the drier your lips became.

I find Carmex the best, the yellow tube with red top.

Missey85 · 07/02/2022 19:23

I use paw paw ointment on my lips

Onionbhajisandwich · 07/02/2022 19:39

Fresh petal soft rose lip cream. My lips are really sensitive so I’ve tried dozens of brands but this stuff works miracles.

I can totally believe this now! I’ve always had soft, happy lips. Now my whole face is a screaming ball of nonsense. It makes me want to cry. Once these are healed I’m never using lip balm again! Ever!

I’ve tried pretty much everything recommended on this thread and the best, by far, is Aquaphor. It heals rather than coats.

FlushTheLoo · 07/02/2022 19:50

Blistex!

Danikm151 · 07/02/2022 19:51

Blistex relief cream. It’s back and it’s amazing

simonisnotme · 07/02/2022 19:53

another vote for Blistex! applied frequently

Garysmum · 07/02/2022 19:54

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream

Wrenna · 07/02/2022 19:59

Plain Chap Stick - The black and white tube. Not the ones with moisturizers, fragrances or flavors.

I use (a separate one) on my nose too when I have a cold and it’s red and sore. Clears it up overnight.

girlabouthome · 07/02/2022 20:01

@Andariego

Lanisoh, marketed as a breastfeeding product but works great on cracked lips (and hands) too
This. It's pure Lanolin so the best thing.

Much cheaper than buying it as Lansinoh than Lanolips

Misreadprob · 07/02/2022 20:03

Burt's bees is the only one I can use - am sensitive to a fair few unfortunately including that yellow tube red lid one. But that's for regular use rather than a specialised emergency treatment

Spaghettio · 07/02/2022 20:54

Can you get this in the UK? I have tubes of this from Australia but have never seen it here! Honestly it is THE. BEST. ever but hard to get!

Blistex Lip Relief Cream

billy1966 · 07/02/2022 21:43

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is excellent, as is Aldi's Miracle cream which is a dupe.

Arabellla · 07/02/2022 22:05

Lanolips is really nice, and more handbag friendly than Lanisoh.

It is pricey though, I got it BOGOHP at Boots.

MrPenguinsPoppers · 07/02/2022 22:33

Blistex is the only thing that works for me. Ive tried everything. Vaseline makes them worse, Burts has no effect at all, coconut oil didn’t help. Ive been through every lip balm and scrub in lush, tried nivea, paw paw (slightly better) and carmex. In desperation I’ve smothered my mouth in savlon, which isn’t recommended and tasted awful but did help a bit.

Blistex though, couldn’t love without the stuff.

cakewench · 07/02/2022 23:05

Blistex. Absolutely sorts the worst chapped lips within hours at most (possibly less but thankfully I’ve not needed it recently!)

Mangofandangoo · 07/02/2022 23:06

@PickAndChooseMe

Blistex relief cream
This stuff is fantastic. Failing that, Vaseline
cakewench · 07/02/2022 23:06

Like I never have cold sores but I wouldn’t be without a few tubes of Blistex for the odd chapped lips. I needed it quite often for DS when he was smaller
