What can you eat in Mac donalds if you are a vegetarian

Please suggest. Are all burgers either have beef or get cooked in beef oil? Can vegetarians and vegans eat from the outlets at all?

You don't. Yabu. It's a burger place.

SomeOwlsCoo · 05/02/2022 05:49

The McPlant burger is vegan isn't it? Or is it a plant based burger cooked in beef oil?

Hugasauras · 05/02/2022 05:54

www.mcdonalds.com/gb/en-gb/menu/vegetarian.html

Hugasauras · 05/02/2022 05:56

And the vegan menu:

www.mcdonalds.com/gb/en-gb/menu/vegan.html

None of it is cooked in beef oil. It is all properly vegetarian/vegan.

There’s loads of options now. I usually get the veggie wrap and cheese melts.

Burger King has more options, veggie burger, veggie “chicken” options and halloumi stuff too.

You do! Why are you spreading incorrect information :) a few veg options actually as per PP

What a horrible post.

There’s the Vegetarian deluxe burger.

And the McPlant burger.

Your post is a waste of everyone’s time,

I checked with BK when we were there once and they said their halloumi burger was cooked with the meat and not veggie. It might have changed/be branch specific though.

I love the macplant and it is vegan

Backtoreality1 · 05/02/2022 07:15

If I was veggie I don’t think I would want to pay into a company that makes its fortune from animal products. The veggie/vegan options are just a palliative to make them appear animal friendly

farendoftether · 05/02/2022 07:15

I’m not vegan but I bloody love the McPlant

But you’re not vegetarian so don’t judge them.

You eat meat but think you have the right to subject vegetarians to higher standards?

That’s terrible hypocrisy.

And many people are vegetarian for religious reasons.

Eminybob · 05/02/2022 07:20

I had a veggie deluxe the other day and it was horrible. Not even a proper burger, it’s 2 veggie fingers in a bun.

The mcplant is ok.

The veggie wraps are good.

It’s not to make them appear animal friendly! It’s to make more money by widening their market. Which is fine. Every other restaurant has veggie/vegan options alongside meat. Why do maccies always get the flack?

Where would you buy food from then?
misspercy · 05/02/2022 07:31

BK cook their veggie stuff on the same grills as they cook their meat stuff. McDonald's don't - their veggie stuff is properly veggie.

Egg and cheese McMuffin
Veggie deluxe burger/wrap
McPlant - this is Beyond meat, which you'll either like by now or hate by now
Cheesy bites

yellowtwo · 05/02/2022 07:31

Backtoreality1 I was veggie at 12 after seeing a video on factory farming and McDonalds products, long time ago now and I know they've changed somewhat. Still, I would never go to McDonalds even now.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/02/2022 07:32

I had the vegan McPlant burger the other day, absolutely delicious.

DoThePropeller · 05/02/2022 07:34

McPlant is vegan and delicious!

LadyPropane · 05/02/2022 07:34

The fries aren't cooked in beef oil, that's a myth. I think they used to do that in some parts of the USA, but it was never a thing in the UK (or Australia, if you happen to be there)

No, the vegetarian and vegan options are there to widen their market reach so they make more money.

The wrap isn’t too bad. I travel a lot for work and tend to get these when I’m using McD’s Wi-Fi.

Fedupsotired · 05/02/2022 07:41

The veggie spicy wrap is lovely. I'm not vegetarian but I often choose this

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 05/02/2022 07:42

Although, as per @LadyPropane, I prefer not to go there. Sometimes needs must in my job.
