Fitted sheets don't fit super king beds even the deep ones?

Is it because we tumble dried the sheets? Husband says this is why they pop off the bed.

I think they don't ever fit and never will.

If you have a memory foam mattress a deep one like a tempur cloud where do you buy the sheets from?

AIBU to tumble dry them?

Where do you get your sheets from ?
I get mine from Next and find that each one is a slightly different size.

Hungry625f · 03/02/2022 07:36

I get the M&S ones, tumble dry the life out of them. They fit fine.

LolaButt · 03/02/2022 07:37

The deep ones from next slide off mine. The extra deep ones stay on.

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 03/02/2022 07:37

I buy extra deep sheets from soak and sleep, 400-600 thread count and they tumbledry quite happily. It’s always a bit tiiiiiight pulling them over the last corner, but I quite like that really snug fit once they’re on

Splashinginpuddles15 · 03/02/2022 07:39

Dunelm Mills do 2 depths . The extra deep one never pops off our bed and I use a rumple dryer . Just check that you are choosing the deepest of the choices as they are on the same shelf .

JeremyWadesBigRod · 03/02/2022 07:39

Bensons, the bed shop do great sheets.

cultkid · 03/02/2022 07:39

I've bought them from M&S, Dunelm, TK, some off of wowcher the deep ones

Just basically a variety and the ones that did the best were wowcher but I still find the corners popping off after the second night

Where shall I buy them today I'm going to lose the plot?

I will throw out the others and air dry these. I can't work out why they are popping off. Unless it's because I'm 50kg and my husband is 105?

M&s one I tumble dry it and it fits fine. One I got from ebay doesn't!

Chippychipcrisps · 03/02/2022 07:40

I use elastic mattress clips for the corners. You can get them off Amazon. Not ideal but I don’t need to worry that the sheet will ping off everytime I sit down on the bed

cultkid · 03/02/2022 07:40

Yes I got extra deep I don't understand why they are coming off 😭😭😭😭

I might try again and just vow not to tumble dry

I'll have a look at the Soak and Sleep I've heard really good things about them

Thanks so much I feel less irritable after this

I've got one corner of an extra deep superking sheet and it annoys me terribly too. No ideas just solidarity 🤣

MangoBiscuit · 03/02/2022 07:42

We have a kingsize tempur, not super king. We have sheets from Ikea., I think they're ULLVIDE. They have been washed and tumbled dried every other week for 2 years (different set each week, not just changed fortnightly, before anyone says we're gross!)

They can be a bit snug to get on, but if I get all the corners on properly they stay put just fine.

JustUseTheDoorSanta · 03/02/2022 07:43

John Lewis 200 thread count cotton fit fine. We don't have a tumbledrier, but cotton wouldn't shrink. Anything with plastic like polyester might shrink I suppose, are they real fibres or plastic.?

gogohm · 03/02/2022 07:45

My pure cotton high thread count asda ones only fit with lots of pulling, whereas the sainsburys cheap one (dp already had it) fits just fine - I tumble dry

MeridasMum · 03/02/2022 07:48

Search 'sheet clips' on Amazon. I use these to keep fitted sheets in place

RampantIvy · 03/02/2022 07:48

Our extra deep fitted sheet is from John Lewis, is tumble dried at this time of year and fits just fine.

WulyJmpr · 03/02/2022 07:48

Ikea ones are fine

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 03/02/2022 07:51

I think I got mine from John Lewis and they would be extra deep. Viscount bedding are good too.

BigYellowHat · 03/02/2022 07:51

Ours is really deep and we had this problem. However, the Habitat one from Sainsbury’s fits amazingly well on all sides.

Cookerhood · 03/02/2022 07:54

I've given up & we now use flat sheets after 30 years of continually trying different sheets on our (king size) bed. I use doubles on the 4 foot bed, extra deep on one double bed (Ikea mattress) & king size on the other (Emma mattress).

Deux · 03/02/2022 07:54

Have you thought about using a flat sheet instead? I find it much easier.

Costco do great deep fitted sheets and the corner seams are gathered and elasticated.

Cookerhood · 03/02/2022 07:54

Great minds deux

TriciaMcMillan · 03/02/2022 07:54

We have linen bedding and this is not a problem, in fact the sheets grow exponentially each day and you have to keep tucking the additional fabric under the mattress. When they come out of the wash they're the right size again and then the whole process starts anew...

jusdevache · 03/02/2022 07:55

It's nothing to do with your different weights!
I find Lidl bed sheets (pure cotton) stay put with no bother (the elastic corners don't stretch all the way to the bottom of the mattress but enough not to pop off and be annoying! I think it's because continental sizes tend to be bigger than UK sizes. I've always put my sheets through the tumble drier and never had any issues with shrinkage. The only time I had an issue was when I stupidly bought king size and not super king size...doh!
