Fitted sheets don't fit super king beds even the deep ones?

Is it because we tumble dried the sheets? Husband says this is why they pop off the bed.

I think they don't ever fit and never will.

If you have a memory foam mattress a deep one like a tempur cloud where do you buy the sheets from?

AIBU to tumble dry them?

I treated myself to a sheet from soak and sleep but despite being 100% cotton, they can't be washed on a cotton wash and only delicate tumble dry. It was a little large on first use but somehow shrunk when washed and dried. Now a very snug fit but stays on. It is the nicest sheet I have ever used but obviously you need to be aware of the issues.

Belledorm Ultra Deep solved our problem. 46cm deep and stay put 😊

Tiny0987 · 03/02/2022 08:36

I have super king size bed and I struggle to find decent fitted sheets that fit the bed. Also struggle to find reasonable price super king size bedding sets. Any ideas where to buy from welcome.

EekThreek · 03/02/2022 08:42

We have exactly the same issue with our superking. Had a deep deep mattress before this one too and didn't have the same issues but I wonder if it's to do with the bed base. We had very similar mattresses both times, but was previously on a divan base and it felt much firmer, but now we have a slatted base and I find it a LOT softer so I sink into more than before. I wondered if it's because the corners are lifting as the middle compresses, so the sheet shifts more?
I've been considering the grippers so I'll give them a go now.

ThievesTemple · 03/02/2022 08:47

I have a superking tempur mattress and have bought sheets from John Lewis, TK max, Dunelm and George and never had a problem with them fitting. I always buy the extra deep size. I mostly try to line dry them where I can but do tumble dry them too.

prettybird · 03/02/2022 08:51

I got mine from Linen Bundle. Apart from the struggle to tuck them in in the first place (because the bed is too wide for me to reach across the top of the bed (and the deep Dunlopillo mattress is very heavy Hmm), it stays on.

I have another extra deep sheet that I bought off Amazon that's also ok but it doesn't have as high a thread count so I usually try to wash and dry my "good" sheet in a single day Grin

Bananas52 · 03/02/2022 08:58

I get mine from dunelm, I think they have three different depths for fitted sheets. We get the mid size and haven’t used any issues.

I've tried loads of brands and although I love my Joules bedding (sale bargain) the bedding from George at Asda cannot be beaten for price and quality. It's a very close second. I have a few Asda sets that are 10 years+ and still look really nice.

BabyInTheJungle · 03/02/2022 09:07

Wait a minute I've just said it can't be beaten and it's a close second... Grin sorry. Need more coffee. It's good anyway!

LuaDipa · 03/02/2022 09:09

Our John Lewis ones fit fine.

Intheopinionofourexpert · 03/02/2022 09:14

There are different depths of extra deep sheets, maybe you need deeper ones. Belledorm do some 46cm ones, they won't shift overnight.

Roselilly36 · 03/02/2022 09:16

Our sheets are from Dunelm, absolutely appalling quality, but they stay on the bed fine, they are extra deep. I wouldn’t recommend Dunelm for sheets, a friend of mine has recommended Sainsbury’s for good quality sheets, I will give them a try next time.

Oh I know the answer to this as I think I’ve spent about £1k over the last year trying to find sheets that fit properly and wash well!

The extra deep 400 thread count sateen weave Egyptian cotton sheets from Next are the best. They’re 40cm, which is deeper than many others and wash and dry well.

I’ve tried M&S, Sheridan, Belledorm and Jl so £-££££ but overall happiest with Next.

cultkid · 03/02/2022 09:22

Thank you there is heaps of info here I really appreciate it

Yes I'm the worst sleeper and so is my husband

I'm also pregnant and going to the toilet honestly at least 20 times a night

Husband gets up two or three times

Thinking about flat sheets although my husband would have to make the bed then (he mostly does it anyway but I help with the pillows and can do an elasticated sheet) if it's a flat sheet he would have to because I can't lift the mattress

I've been buying cotton sheets but they clearly have some sort of elastic in the corners to fit them to the mattress

So frustrating

Going to get one of these today

40cm is the deepest I've read about by far

Thank you 🙏

Belledorm Ultra Deep solved our problem. 46cm deep

I found whilst they fit in corners they ride up round the side so wrinkle on top of bed, although I guess it depends on your mattress and frame combo. I feel
Like decent sheets are the holy grail!

LuciaInTheGarden · 03/02/2022 09:27

I have a zip and link superking, we have M&S sheets, never come off. But I went overboard, so measured my bed but went way over what my mattress depth was. Looking at M&S site it was probably the extra deep ones.

I tumble dry all my bedding and I make sure that when the fitted sheet goes on it is all the way under. Dh and I make the bed together, it is just so big, but lovely!

LuciaInTheGarden · 03/02/2022 09:29

I would invest in the clips though as you already have loads of bedding. I sewed a wide band elastic for my mattress topper that kept moving around (under Dh who moves around a lot when asleep) and that holds it in place rather than the ineffectual corner straps.

PegasusReturns · 03/02/2022 09:29

@cultkid that’s the 600 thread count version so will be slightly better quality but yes those are the style I recommend.

I didn’t know there was a 600 count version so I’m now going to be forced to see how much better than my 400 version they are Grin

ThatDreamSheep · 03/02/2022 09:31

Measure your mattress so you know what depth you need to look for. I know Dunelm do an extra deep one.

violetbunny · 03/02/2022 10:16

I always buy fitted sheets one size up for this reason.

allthingsnaice · 03/02/2022 10:47

I get 50cm deep super king ones from the Duvet Store! They're the only ones that don't fall off. Expensive, but worth it not to have to keep pulling the blasted thing down.
