Fitted sheets don't fit super king beds even the deep ones?

Is it because we tumble dried the sheets? Husband says this is why they pop off the bed.

I think they don't ever fit and never will.

If you have a memory foam mattress a deep one like a tempur cloud where do you buy the sheets from?

AIBU to tumble dry them?

IKEA ullvide cotton/bamboo. You can get them online.

WhatsUpDrWhoChristmasSpecial · 03/02/2022 07:56

IKEA!!

Tenementfunster · 03/02/2022 07:57

We have a super king and have finally found somewhere: Secret Linen Store online.

genome · 03/02/2022 07:58

I buy the IKEA in the EU size for a UK size bed and they are bigger so I can get them all the way underneath. We have a Simba mattress and it's pretty tall/deep.

The best fitted sheet I have is a Fox and Ivy one from Tesco that was about £20.

We got some gorgeous expensive sheets as a wedding present and they popped off our bed every single night. I had bought the Tesco one as a spare so I could make up our bed for a house sitter. I put it on the bed and was stunned at how beautifully it fitted and it’s been our sheet ever since, hasn’t popped once!

Floydthebarber · 03/02/2022 08:01

Not a superking but Ikea's king stay on ours and have not shrunk. Thick cotton. I expect the superkings would be the same.

DevonTF · 03/02/2022 08:02

When we bought a new bed, we hadn't realised how deep the mattress was - and none of our sheets fitted. Bought extra deep ones - still popped off in the night.

We now use 'sheet grippers' - they are brilliant.

The best one I got was Amazon basics!

altforvarmt · 03/02/2022 08:05

I'd also recommend getting clips for your sheets, rather than throwing your sheets away in the search for the holy grail of fitted sheets.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 03/02/2022 08:06

All our sheets are tumble dried and we just use cheap ASDA basics for about £10 a set.

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 03/02/2022 08:07

DH has little clippy things like mini suspenders on each corner of ours. Keeps them on.

Ireolu · 03/02/2022 08:09

We have Dunelm & John Lewis and not particularly deep and they fit. Stupid question but are you putting the sheets on correctly? When we don't we r more likely to have problems.

DSGR · 03/02/2022 08:10

M&S extra deep fit fine on mine and I always tumble dry

JustUseTheDoorSanta · 03/02/2022 08:11

Can you link to an example please? This would be useful for the spare bed with the skinny mattress!
jimpamdwight · 03/02/2022 08:11

Extra deep John Lewis ones never pop off my super king, also have a thick mattress topper, tumble dried all the time and very soft!

BabyInTheJungle · 03/02/2022 08:12

We've got the M&S extra deep and they are ok but do pop off a bit. All other brands have come off. Only my side though so DH blames me Angry

Interested to try the IKEA ones, especially if made of bamboo!

I tumble dry almost everything clothes-wise but always drape my sheets to dry on the bannister. I find it helps keep them slightly less wrinkled!

winterowl · 03/02/2022 08:15

We have an extra deep one from John Lewis and it's big on our tempur bed! Never comes off though...

RampantIvy · 03/02/2022 08:16

I wonder if the people whose sheets pop off fidget a lot while asleep?

userxx · 03/02/2022 08:21

@cultkid Donate the useless ones to an animal charity, they are always desperate for sheets/towels.

purplesequins · 03/02/2022 08:23

is the bed a european size?

CornishTiger · 03/02/2022 08:27

I had a flexisheet from Asda. It was fab.

Looks like this is the latest offering.

I bought this the other day, well impressed with it. The elastic bit is really wide.

Mercedes519 · 03/02/2022 08:30

My DH fidgets a lot so I might try those grippers. We have a super king memory foam and I am constantly remaking it.

We have a mattress cover, do you use them just on the sheet and the cover would stay on underneath then?

Entertained by the reviews on Amazon complaining of how heavy it is to move the mattress only for someone to point out you can put them on the sheet BEFORE you put it on…doh!

TheFlis12345 · 03/02/2022 08:30

Someone on here recommended Wilko sheets. I was sceptical but they were right, they’re brilliant and don’t shift at all.
