To say I've found a loo brush solution

Hanooooooo · 31/01/2022 13:13

I think I've found a solution to the famous mumsnet hatred and fear of a loo brush. Just replaced my old one with this little beauty

www.amazon.co.uk/Silicone-Holder%EF%BC%8CBathroom-Cleaning-Handle%EF%BC%8CToilet-Anti-drip/dp/B094R8ZK4N/ref=sr_1_21?keywords=silicone+toilet+brush&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1643634715&sr=8-21

Silicon, no where for dirt to hide, easy to clean and tiny - takes up barely any space. Thoughts?

OP posts:
BobHadBitchTits · 31/01/2022 13:16

Apparently they're crap.

TheNewGnuKnew · 31/01/2022 13:24

I have one, it does the job it is intended for. Watch if you buy one from Amazon though, I bought one from there and it had drainage holes in the bottom of the outer container. Whilst the silicone doesn't hold a lot of water it would still have dripped down onto the floor.

Oxo01 · 01/02/2022 20:36

Bought a double pack last year.
I love them will not go back to bristle ones, these are more hygenic, can hang on wall or sit on floor. Just dont go for the cheaper ones advertised.

VanGoghsDog · 01/02/2022 20:38

I have the similar Joseph Joseph one. It's fine.

itbemay1 · 01/02/2022 20:38

I've got this one and it's brilliant

Giraffesandbottoms · 01/02/2022 20:38

I have this snd it’s great

Giraffesandbottoms · 01/02/2022 20:39

Or like a PP I have the same thing from another brand. I mostly like it because it’s small and you can hide it easily

chocolatemademefat · 01/02/2022 20:43

I have two of these - never going back to bristles!

ouch321 · 01/02/2022 20:44

You've purchased a loo brush as a solution to the problem of not wanting to buy a loo brush... Confused

hugr · 01/02/2022 20:45

Yes!! I'd never had a toilet brush until I used one of these on holiday and they are amazing

BlackandJello · 01/02/2022 20:47

Toilet duck fresh brush is the answer! Best thing I've bought recently.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 01/02/2022 20:53

Are they actually flushable though or are they like those moist toilet wipes that are supposedly flushable but still clog up the drains and sewage works?
KarlUrbansWife · 01/02/2022 21:17

Yep, I bought the version from Must Have Ideas (don't shoot me!) and bloody love it.
Normal loo brushes make me feel so sick.

notanothertakeaway · 01/02/2022 22:01

Silicone toilet brush is the way to go, definitely

Bwix · 01/02/2022 22:03

OP that’s basically a poo spatula. Not sure if it’s a step up from the famous mn poo knife

Ohyesiam · 01/02/2022 22:25

Op how does cleaning the bit that’s attached to your wall work?

Dimondsareforever · 01/02/2022 22:29

I bought 2. They are pretty rubbish! Ok for ‘light” stuff, but no good for DC who seem to make a mess!

BringYourOwnBoris · 01/02/2022 22:29

Sorry its still vile. Just swill some bloody bleach around the bowl. Hmm

marlowe5 · 01/02/2022 22:34

Agreed. These are the answer!
RampantIvy · 01/02/2022 22:46

@BobHadBitchTits

Apparently they're crap.
No they aren't. They are really good and are easily cleaned. The dirt has nowhere to hide. I don't understand why people say they don't work.
betwixtlives · 01/02/2022 22:46

YABU to claim you’ve discovered something new Hmm

longtompot · 01/02/2022 22:49

I bought a pair of these and whilst much better than a traditional bristle brush they have lost some of the nobbly bits. When I replace them I will get better quality ones.

Heartofglass12345 · 01/02/2022 22:51

I bought one off amazon and it's shit lol. There are holes on the outer container and it's really bendy so difficult to get it under the rim of the toilet bowl

floppybit · 01/02/2022 22:53

Oh no, there must be something wrong with us! I bought the Joseph Joseph version and it just wasn't up to the job of the teenage boy turds in this house. Had to revert to the cheapy Ikea one

DotBall · 01/02/2022 22:57

They are crap.
My best bog brushes are from Lidl and have an extra bit of brush to get under the rim.
