To think I can lose weight in 2 weeks

Redhot24 · 30/01/2022 13:51

Hi

I am 5ft 3 and 82kg Sad.
I know i have left it so late but I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks and would just love to lose a little bit in time for it - is 3/4kg possible?

Does anyone have a tried and tested method? Will Slimfast for 2 weeks give me results? Or No carbs diet?
I am planning to go to the gym 3/4x a week for the next fortnight.

Please help! Thank you

I’d say 3kg is possible and put simply eat less than you burn. Choose your favourite method of doing that (it really doesn’t matter) and stick religiously to it without cheating for 2 weeks. Accept occasional hunger but don’t actually starve yourself.

veevee04 · 30/01/2022 13:55

3kg is almost 7 lbs , 4 kg almost 9 lbs in two weeks . The safest way to lose weight is 1lbs to 2lbs to a week, you could crash diet do exante or a VLCD for a couple of weeks no carbs but you will quickly regain it back and possibly more if you come off it quickly.

TinySaltLick · 30/01/2022 13:57

Weight loss is maintaining a calorie deficit. That is it. Eat healthily and exercise. Use more calories than you consume.

Everything else is snake oil and nonsense.

The more you can stick to this, the more weight loss you will experience.

2kg a week is a lot and probably not sustainable safely, but every day of exercise and healthy eating will be positive. You could make an impact in two weeks if you stick to it!

LittleMissA · 30/01/2022 13:58

I've found what has had the most visual difference to my shape in the shortest time is doing 30 day shred every day, there's a one week version that does a morning and evening workout and if you combine that with low carb and being sensible I think you would see a difference in 2 weeks!

ABitOfAShitShow · 30/01/2022 13:58

You can do it if you’re strict with what you eat and workout religiously so that you’re in a calorie deficit as @AppleKatie said. Whether you gain it all back really depends on what you do afterwards. It’s not a given that you’ll pile it back on if you lose it fast. It never has been for me anyway.

SocksAndTheCity · 30/01/2022 13:59

Hammering the gym for two weeks won't make any difference if you're just going sack it off afterwards, and if you plan to eat so little that you'll lose 3-4kg in that time I doubt you'll feel up to exercising.

Dumping most carbs including fruit and sticking to lean protein and non starchy vegetables (which you'll get enough carbs from to manage) ought to do it. You'll lose a fair bit of water, which will shift a few pounds.

You'll also be bored shitless, but it's only two weeks Smile.

Notimeforaname · 30/01/2022 14:02

Agree with others 3k is doable if you stick to a calorie deficit intake for the next two weeks. Drink plenty of water. Always have a bottle on you.

Notimeforaname · 30/01/2022 14:04

Its 70% diet ..30% exercise.

My dad in his 60s. Needed to lose weight doctor's orders. He kept banging on about the gym and going for huge walks.
He doesn't have the time for that with work.

He really switched up his diet and within a month he had lost over a stone. He didn't lift a finger. Just changed his diet.

CharbetHallmark · 30/01/2022 14:05

I lost 7 pounds last week cutting out all sugar, snacking only on fruit, eating low carb and drinking lots of water.,

AuntyClem · 30/01/2022 14:05

I lost 8lbs in my first week with a personal trainer but that was going from a pretty crap, carb and sugar heavy diet to a low carb “detox” diet, and I had a lot to lose.

ReadySteadyTwins · 30/01/2022 14:05

I used to be part of a bootcamp for celebs (I use the word celeb lightly) and I can tell you how to crash for two weeks. I wouldn't recommend it as you absolutely will put it back on, and probably a couple of pounds more. You'll feel like shit and starving the whole time (so you need iron discipline) but we frequently got a stone off them in a week. I think the record was 1st 8lbs. But the bloke was huge. The bigger you are, the bigger the initial loss will be. I could starve myself for 14 days and not be able to lose that.

Are you having to work/have any responsibilities during the two weeks you want to do this. Because you'll have bugger all energy.

Pedalpushers · 30/01/2022 14:06

Depends what you think you can stick to.

Can you deal with being really hungry? Then VLCD/slim fast will do it. If you can't, try volume eating where you fill up on veg and low cal soups before meals. If you crave carbs then low carb might not work for you, and not getting enough carbs will make exercise more difficult. I also find exercise makes me more hungry!

CrimbleCrumble1 · 30/01/2022 14:06

I lost half a stone in a week by doing Jason Vale’s 7lb in 7 days programme. I ordered his soups and smoothies/juices but you can make them all at home. One pound went back on but the rest of the weight stayed off. The week was very difficult but I felt incredible at the end of it, so cleansed and I was craving really healthy meals.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 30/01/2022 14:08

Sticking to low cal, low carb and lots of water for a couple of weeks would probably do it, if you don't then maintain the diet then it will go back on after the 2 weeks but if you just want a temporary drop then that's how.

2022success · 30/01/2022 14:08

I lost ten pounds in two weeks once. I was in lust love and going on a first date with the object of my affections.

I just ate cold meat and salad and not much else.

Is there a specific reason why you want to lose weight for the wedding? Is The One That Got Away going to be there? Or The Ex Who Broke My Heart? Flowers

Notimeforaname · 30/01/2022 14:10

Cut out all white bread, pasta, rice.

Have chicken,fish and vegetables,soups, fruit.

Cut out all sauces/dips with any meals.

My dad stopped all bread except for brown soda bread.
Had a small bowl of homemade veg soup sometimes before his dinner and found he was eating only half of his main plate.

And tonnes of water. He was shocked at how many times he had to pee during the day. Thought it was madness. But hes used to it now. The weight fell off him. His cholesterol went way down.

RoomOfRequirement · 30/01/2022 14:10

Sorry, I'm no use. But I was just hoping someone else here also has no idea whether 82KG is a super skinny 6 stone, or a larger 20 stone. My brain genuinely has no comprehension of it. Did we learn that in school and I missed it?!

Wannabegreenfingers · 30/01/2022 14:12

I've lost 11lbs in 4 weeks by not eating crap and not drinking alcohol. I average 7000 steps a day. I clearly hold a lot of water weight as I have a healthy bmi with my height to weight ratio.

Chunkymonkey123 · 30/01/2022 14:12

Do the fast 800 diet, you’ll lose 7 pounds easily in two weeks

ememem84 · 30/01/2022 14:13

I’ve lost 2 kg this week. A combination of stress and illness and I’ll was related stress and anxiety.

I had what we thought was covid (it’s not). The dc and DH all had a tummy bug so I’ve been stressed and anxious about this and also about me getting it.

Not the ideal way.

maddy68 · 30/01/2022 14:15

Lose ALL carbs fir two weeks iabd toy will be able to easily

Redhot24 · 30/01/2022 14:19

Thank you for all the responses

VLCD isn’t very possible as I work a demanding nhs job on my feet most of the day and feel very faint quickly if haven’t eaten much! Fat and can’t not eat - awful combination.

Think im gonna go with low carb and hope I can shift a few pounds Sad

Cabbage soup diet would fix that.

Google kilos to stones/ lbs converter it will show you.

Look up Prolon - it's very expensive (eg £150 a week) as aimed at tech bros but you can see the sort of thing. It comes out at about 750 cals per day, so in that respect same as Michael Mosley. It will work if you do it for 2 weeks.
