@AdamRyan

I thought we were getting an extra £350m a week for health from brexit? Confused surely no taxes are required?
Ah, unfortunately we got the wrong sort of Brexit because Jeremy Corbyn wouldn't vote for it and the Europeans were not prepared to just give the UK free money.

@JaniieJones

'Is that where Big Baby's passion for hiding started?'

Is the constant, repetitive Big Baby thing a Toy Story reference? If so I'll join in and call Starmer 'Rex' as he bears a striking resemblance to TRex, both in his rabbit in the headlights facial expressions and whiny wibbly voice.

Or, we could just call them Johnson and Starmer?

Johnson wants to be called Big Dog apparently. Big Baby just seems more appropriate given the tantrums.

@JaniieJones yes we could call them Johnson & Starmer but you couldn’t resist throwing in your usual name calling and personal insults of Starmer could you?

Pot calling kettle on that one!

SueSaid · 30/01/2022 11:01

@DuncinToffee

A rabbit resembles a T-Rex?
Err no, 'rabbit in the headlights' is a common expression. It is a way to describe someone who looks terrified. Like Rex and Starmer.
AdamRyan · 30/01/2022 11:03

I personally would associate a T rex with a rabbit in the headlights look and a whiny wobbly voice.
Not sure I would want a T Rex for PM though. They were scavengers with little brain apparently.
It's a good question. What dinosaur would make the best pm?

SueSaid · 30/01/2022 11:11

'I personally would associate a T rex with a rabbit in the headlights look and a whiny wobbly voice'

Not generally no, you need to watch Toy Story to understand.

'I would have agreed with that if Bozo didn't avoid the hard questions on a fairly regular basis... he did hide in a fridge'

Oh he doesn't, he answers the hard questions all the time. The fridge incident was to avoid ridiculous gossipy jezza Kyle style telly 'reporters'.

Florianus · 30/01/2022 11:11

@LittleBearPad

True, but only this morning I posted a list of the six elections won by Johnson in recent years.

So? Loads of MPs have won multiple elections - any sitting MP elected in 2005 has won 6 elections. It doesn’t prove much.

Johnson's wins were from four different constituencies (London voters, MPs, party members and Uxbridge voters). I don't know why so many people voted for him, but being sacked for lying seems to have been no issue for them.
Roussette · 30/01/2022 11:17

I think you need to get your telly checked out Janiie.
Particularly the sound.
I have not heard whiny or wobbly AT ALL from Starmer, nor rabbit in the headlights. Far from it actually, he looks totally at ease at the Despatch box, much like he was in Chambers no doubt

There's some brlllant deals out there ATM particularly for OLEDs, maybe you'll see what we're seeing if you buy one!
**@Florianus I served on three QUANGOs over a period of 30 years and retired 5 years ago. Does that help?

Not really as you could have retired from working at Tescos 5 years ago. I am asking what time period in calendar years you are basing your experience of civil service catering on?
@Florianus did you miss my question about dates?

LittleBearPad · 30/01/2022 11:19

Still not the country is it?

The NHS is getting £600 million a week in real terms by 2023-24 - but it is well known that however much it gets, it always needs more.

I missed the last time that the Prime Minister did a TV or radio interview. Do you know when it was?

And you may need to take into account that the UK is still paying the EU approximately 6 billion euros a year according to the OBR.

I can’t remember a proper interview. But that’s because he’s frit.

ClaudineClare · 30/01/2022 11:26

Johnson is crap at proper interviews. No wonder he slithered out of being interviewed by Andrew Neil during the 2019 GE.

DuncinToffee · 30/01/2022 11:26

What did Sunak resemble when he ran off at the end of the interview?

LittleBearPad · 30/01/2022 11:26

A twelve year old who was late for prep

I think you'll find it was, it was written in very small writing in the fridge, but unless you have hidden in it you wouldn't have seen it.

How is that click bait? It doesn’t click.

You don't find it amusing that a poster on a previous iteration of this thread thought that the Prime Minister's role was to be a messenger?

Indeed it wasn't. But, as pointed out by Director of the Office of National Statistics, even the £350 million was an incorrect figure. It didn't seem to bother Giselda or Boris, though.
