Part 4

@Florianus

Peregrina: My opinion, and you are at liberty to disagree, is that you formed an opinion but declared that it applied across the board.

Where did I make such a declaration? You are not going to say because, one again you are just inventing things. At this point I will remind you that personal attacks are against the T&Cs of Mumsnet.

So you are going to apologise for calling me unhinged @Florianus in an early post and report it to MN.

Thank you.

@Florianus I served on three QUANGOs over a period of 30 years and retired 5 years ago. Does that help?

Not really as you could have retired from working at Tescos 5 years ago. I am asking what time period in calendar years you are basing your experience of civil service catering on?

merrymouse · 30/01/2022 10:29

So totally irrelevant and a failed attempt to divert discussion away from Partygate.

No, just an honest admission that I don’t know the employment terms of most DVLA staff. It’s still part of the civil service.

DuncinToffee · 30/01/2022 10:33

Meanwhile Sunak and Johnson are doubling down on the National Insurance rise and Truss is busy defending it.
And the chicken is going to Kiev borrowed that from another thread

Presumably they want to raise taxes now, so that they can then with great fanfare reduce them before the next election to a still higher level, than before they made a complete mess of everything.

Did their manifesto say they were going to raise taxes?

The time when the public start getting really hacked off is when they feel it in their own pocket. So in April when they have less in their wage packet because of the NI hike, heating bills go up & they are paying more to run their cars - whoever is in charge then, will feel the heat from the electorate!

All that just in time for the localelections too! It will be fascinating too see what happens, not usually something I would say about local elections!
DuncinToffee · 30/01/2022 10:41

Hmm jgw1 I think they are the party of cutting taxes, the wouldn't have lied now, would the?

Or maybe they are waiting for SG to tell them when a tax is a tax.

Are you sure @DuncinToffee they are not the party of the Magic Party Tree?
OP posts:
LittleBearPad · 30/01/2022 10:45

So why have they voted for him in so many elections?

It’s important to remember that the people of this country have only voted for Boris in one election and that was against Jeremy Corbyn.

And you waste everyone's time by imagining that they were investigated by SG for participation in Partygate?

It is hardly worth people contributing to this thread with so many timewasters and attempts to divert attention from proper discussion.

DuncinToffee · 30/01/2022 10:46

Honestly, I can't keep up anymore jgw1 but it all started with a bus.

As far as I can tell there is only one main timewaster, who does seem to have rather unfortunately resorted to offensive personal attacks this morning.

Yes an income tax cut is planned for 23/24.

Did their manifesto say they were going to raise taxes?

It explicitly said they wouldn’t which is why the NI increase is badged as the Health & Social Care levy. They are dancing on the head of a pin with that one.

I think the calculation is that this will hit the poorest the hardest but they think they don't vote and or don't vote Conservative.

its a worldwide problem and everyone has to pay for Covid costs

Tories have gone up in the most recent polls accord to Sky News.

True, but only this morning I posted a list of the six elections won by Johnson in recent years.

Was there a wine fridge on a bus? Is that where Big Baby's passion for hiding started?

Do we know if word is out yet on whether Boris Johnson is responsible for the manifesto he campaigned on or was he just a messenger then as well?

So? Loads of MPs have won multiple elections - any sitting MP elected in 2005 has won 6 elections. It doesn’t prove much.

AdamRyan · 30/01/2022 10:51

I thought we were getting an extra £350m a week for health from brexit? Confused surely no taxes are required?

SueSaid · 30/01/2022 10:51

'Is that where Big Baby's passion for hiding started?'

Is the constant, repetitive Big Baby thing a Toy Story reference? If so I'll join in and call Starmer 'Rex' as he bears a striking resemblance to TRex, both in his rabbit in the headlights facial expressions and whiny wibbly voice.

Or, we could just call them Johnson and Starmer?

Ah but you see that would undermine the PM. He’s only got where he has today by being “Boris”

Sadly it seems that might have been a bit of a fib.

Obviously the only one Boris has ever told.

I would have agreed with that if Bozo didn't avoid the hard questions on a fairly regular basis... he did hide in a fridge, he does put up very junior ministers to answer urgent questions in the commons & he did self isolate, going against the CV advice & he did so to avoid questions on No 10 parties.

He is a coward.
