To think I'm old?

heartachetoheartache · 20/01/2022 21:25

I used to party all the time. I am now 30 and I honestly am most happy sitting on my own or with my kid watching a film and chilling out.

I remember the days when I would be out partying, now I am just so happy chilling

AIBU to think old age is getting to me?

I wish I’d realised earlier that I was much happier doing stuff like that! I just used to get hammered whenever I went out to get me through it…

JaninaDuszejko · 20/01/2022 21:35

You're 30, you're not old.

Comedycook · 20/01/2022 21:36

You're not old. You're just at a different stage of your life.

MargaretThursday · 20/01/2022 21:36

I remember my dm's comment on someone she knew:
"A wild night is having a real coffee rather than instant." Grin

Though I told a 3yo yesterday that going to bed early was a treat. They thought I was joking.
I wasn't.

ZenNudist · 20/01/2022 21:37

Not old no.

Babyvenusplant · 20/01/2022 21:37

Im 32 and I love staying in so much more now, can't think of anything worse than going out partying 😂

PinkMoon22 · 20/01/2022 21:37

This is me.
Wouldn't thank you for a night out now.
Cosy night in for me and my son any day.

PinkMoon22 · 20/01/2022 21:38

Forgot to say I'm 32

Yup, at 30 it's all downhill for you. Hmm

DramaAlpaca · 20/01/2022 21:38

You're 30, how can you be old? I'm almost twice your age and I'm not old.

eldora · 20/01/2022 21:38

But insulting to older people, many of whom have an actual social life!

Rainbowbrite2022 · 20/01/2022 21:43

You are not old you just have different priorities and preferences as you age. Completely normal.

rainbowandglitter · 20/01/2022 21:44

My nan and grandad in their 70s go out partying most weekends and never turn down a social invite so it's nothing to do with age. Your interests have just changed.

merryhouse · 20/01/2022 21:50

You want to stay in with your small child

because you have a small child

It's hardly rocket science. You're definitely not old.

AuntyMabelandPippin · 20/01/2022 21:52

Ffs.

I'm almost 60. I am not old.

Ok, I'm not wanting to go clubbing, or go out till the early hours, but I still enjoy going out or spending time with my friends.

When my DC were small, I went out once in a blue moon. Now they've left home, it's any excuse to not cook. Grin

ILoveHuskies · 20/01/2022 21:54

Agree
Lostinafield · 20/01/2022 22:02

Of course you're not old.

TatianaBis · 20/01/2022 22:04

You’re not old until you have 2 pairs of glasses.

GrandTheftWalrus · 20/01/2022 22:05

I'm 37 (had to work that out) and I enjoy getting drunk and dancing, however I prefer it in my house as I can put my jammies on to make a tit of myself.

I also enjoy sitting watching movies or TV series with dh when he isn't working etc.

I don't feel remotely old, infact I sometimes think that I shouldn't be in a pub etc as I'm too young!

Clearly my head thinks I'm 16.

JohnnyEyebrows · 20/01/2022 22:09

What a ridiculous post. You're hardly the keeper of the keys to the crypt are you?

Atla · 20/01/2022 22:13

God love ye OP. 30?

Fabvegetablegrower · 20/01/2022 22:17

No you're not old. Give it a few years and you'll be glad to go out again. I have verifocals (2 pairs of glasses). I don't feel that old thanks.

TheFoundation · 20/01/2022 22:19

Ironically, your viewpoint demonstrates your immaturity.

lisaandalan · 20/01/2022 22:20

Your not old, just content. X
