To think I'm old?

heartachetoheartache · 20/01/2022 21:25

I used to party all the time. I am now 30 and I honestly am most happy sitting on my own or with my kid watching a film and chilling out.

I remember the days when I would be out partying, now I am just so happy chilling

AIBU to think old age is getting to me?

Yeah you're quite up there tbh.

DrSbaitso · 20/01/2022 22:26

@TheFoundation

Ironically, your viewpoint demonstrates your immaturity.
I was thinking this.
Thoosa · 20/01/2022 22:26

🙄

DiddyHeck · 20/01/2022 22:28

I can't believe you wrote that nonsense and then had the front to bump it up 🤣

WillowintheUK · 20/01/2022 22:28

If you’re old at 30, goodness knows what I am!

Don’t be so bloody stupid, you’re just growing up and at a different stage in your life.

ThinWomansBrain · 20/01/2022 22:29

I'm not old, because my sister is ten years older than me Grin

But yes, agree with PPs it's incredibly rude to assume that just because you have a crap social life, it's reasonable to equate that with being "old".

I was out at the Roundhouse yesterday, gallery and a meal tomorrow, cinema saturday, meeting friends for lunch on Sunday, theatre on Monday...
Enjoy sitting home alone.

MarieKlepto · 20/01/2022 22:32

No, "old age" is not getting to you, you've just got a different set of priorities and comfort zones at the moment (which may or may not change in the future, either is just fine).

My festival going/gig loving/first at the party 70 year old friend would say the same. I'm between your age and my friend's age and I'm still gigging, etc but I'd hate to be your age because with social media/Love Island and the rest "party people" seem to be in your face all the time (not saying you are influenced by any of this but I know a lot of younger people are.

schoolsoutforever · 20/01/2022 22:42

Completely decrepit.

schoolsoutforever · 20/01/2022 22:44

It's just ages/stages thing. I remember feeling old at 18 because I wasn't 17. What a silly idea. But the I felt old at 26 because I wasn't 24. It goes on and on. I'm 46 now and don't worry so much anymore..

Norgie · 20/01/2022 22:47

Old at 30? Blooming heck, I must be positively decrepit now then. ☹️

Coffeeholix · 20/01/2022 22:48

Several 30 somethings have posted similar to this on here. Seriously you are where you are in your life and you like to stay in with your child. How in earth does that make you old?

Mariabombia · 20/01/2022 22:51

@JohnnyEyebrows

What a ridiculous post. You're hardly the keeper of the keys to the crypt are you?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Butchyrestingface · 20/01/2022 22:55

Yes, you are ancient and clearly living on borrowed time. Even the nursing homes would probably balk at taking you.

Partying/clubbing? There comes a point where not only have you been there, done that, got the t-shirt; but you've relegated said t-shirt to the rags bin because it has been worn and washed so many times.

It's not about being old. It's about being ready for what else life has to offer besides hedonism. Congratulations for being ready!

Katya213 · 20/01/2022 22:57

30…old? 30 is young!

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 20/01/2022 22:58

I'm 31. I feel old. My body is packing in on me. I am not as able as my 84 year old nan. I used to love life. Now I never leave my house. If you're an able bodied 30 year old get out their and experience life. Don't take anything for granted!

I would love to just go out for a walk with my dog and kids again

StopStartStop · 20/01/2022 23:02

Ha! You're hardly out of childhood. 30 is very young, 40 is young, 50 is grown up, 60 is 'getting a bit achy and thinks young people have lost the collective plot', 70 is ... tell you when i get there.

StopStartStop · 20/01/2022 23:10

@AllThingsServeTheBeam

You're not old, you're just growing up.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 21/01/2022 14:06

Well you’re not old for starters! Still on the young side.

More mature, yes. Older than you were, of course - we all are!
