What bugs you on trains?

People cutting their toenails

People travelling at busy times who put bags on the seat next to them and then eyeroll you when you tell them to move it out of the way...

People who are not quiet in the quiet carriage.

I was on a train recently for the first time in 2 years. 2 teenage girls decided to sit one in front of me, one behind, and then talk (shout) to each other, maskless, over the top of my head at top volume about sodding tik tok. After about 40 minutes I said "for gods sake can't you sit side by side to talk, to you have to talk over my head? I'll swap seats if that's easier!" and they were all "oooh! Look at her! ooooh! no! We have to shut up now! the bitch has told us off! It's like school! Omg! Aaargh!" etc etc for another 40 minutes til they got off.

People sniffing next to you - just gross! Get a tissue

Actually the worst though is drunk football blokes. They don't know each other, but they shout up and down the carriage and burp and spill things and are generally horrible.

Yes, I have had this a couple of times. I now check football listings to see if there's a game on before I travel so I can choose a different line!

It’s every specific but I once sat next to a woman on the way back from London (2.5h) who was compulsively scratching her scalp while chatting to her friend.

She was really leaning over the table and going for it absentmindedly. All I could think of was the number of scalp skin cells that must have been on that table. I couldn’t bring myself to put my drink on it

I couldn't believe it... 30 seconds before I get off the train, he finally switches to Voulez Vouz after 40 effing minutes straight of Gimme Gimme Gimme. I would have moved, but packed commuter train 😬
