I have left Ocado

I have been a regular customer for around 7 years, since delivery began in my area.
I was unable to get deliveries for about 3 months during the first lockdown. No problem as other people needed them more.
Really wasn't keen on the switch to M&S because I loved the Waitrose range and expensive ready meals aren't my thing.
We were told that an equivalent would be available for most products.

That is certainly not the case and lots of other brand products have disappeared.
It is also far more expensive and very few offers. One item I buy regularly used to be 2 for £7 now they are £4.40 each.
I really miss Waitrose essentials Sad
Anyone else jumped ship?

So why do you think you are being unreasonable OP? You're free to shop where you like. I'm sure you are aware Waitrose have a delivery service.

Firesidefox · 13/01/2022 19:39

How good is the Waitrose one? I stick with Ocado because it's reliable, but if Waitrose home delivery is as good, I would definitely jump

How would you be unreasonable to stop shopping at Ocado if they no longer meet your needs Confused

Vanuatu · 13/01/2022 19:44

Why is it reasonable to comment on a thread when you have nothing to say?

We left about 18 months ago. It wasn’t too bad during lockdown for deliveries but the m&s switch didn’t work for us. Like you say, much more expensive! I had weeks and week when I could r get tinned tomorrow for less than £1 when the Waitrose essentials had been about 40p.
We use the Morrison’s delivery service now. It’s cost £65 for the year and it’s run by Ocado. Works ok for us.

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2022 19:46

I would switch to Waitrose delivery if I were you. You liked their products and miss the Essentials stuff. Give them a whirl and see.
Does M&S have anything you'll particularly miss?

Handsnotwands · 13/01/2022 19:46

Left? Like a club?

SparklyLeprechaun · 13/01/2022 19:47

I was never keen on M&S so I started using Waitrose delivery. Except I could only find delivery slots if I booked 2 weeks in advance. Then they introduced delivery charges so it's bye bye Waitrose.

whateveryousay · 13/01/2022 19:47

I have jumped ship after at least 8 years too. I now use Morrisons! It is exactly the same app (different colour though 😂), same carrier bags, and same drivers (they told me). So far, so good.

sol7 · 13/01/2022 19:47

I have used both. The Waitrose delivery service is pretty good but I don't think they have quite so much choice as Ocado, although I have found more and more products on Ocado seem regularly out of stock.

Paddingtonthebear · 13/01/2022 19:48

Yes we’ve pretty much stopped using after about 8 years or so. We go to Sainsburys now

TunnelOfGoats · 13/01/2022 19:49

Waitrose delivery service is much better than Ocado in my experience

RogueV · 13/01/2022 19:51

I did the same last year when I couldn’t get a delivery slot at Christmas as a long time smart pass holder.

Very happy with Sainsburys

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 13/01/2022 19:51

I’ve stopped using them as they’re too expensive. In lockdown 1 I was using them because they were the one supermarket I could always get a delivery from.

Used Morrison’s a lot and also Sainsbury’s to deliver but I’m currently going into Aldi as I can go at a less busy time.

AllKindsOfWrong · 13/01/2022 19:51

I stopped using them when they split from Waitrose, sadly Waitrose don't deliver to my area.
@Whateveryousay That's because ocado and Morrisons share a warehouse. ( I have insider info )

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 13/01/2022 19:51

Ocado are reliable in my experience and have good customer service

DobbyTheHouseElk · 13/01/2022 19:51

Morrisons was great til it started using the supermarket to pick from.

needabreak5 · 13/01/2022 19:52

We still use it because they are so reliable. Not been as keen on the switch to M&S, and miss Waitrose stuff like the OP. But still pay the £10 a month for unlimited free deliveries - still not sure any other supermarket deliveries are as good a service. Waitrose is good but last minute slots are like gold dust so not fit for purpose and Ocado is better for that!

FangsForTheMemory · 13/01/2022 19:52

I'll be honest, I'm not sure why you need to announce it.

Concestor · 13/01/2022 19:53

We left before Christmas after I don't even know how many years. Subs all the time, too expensive, missed Waitrose and didn't like the marks stuff.
They didn't give a shit when I called to cancel. Crap customer service, they deserve to go under.

GlamourBear · 13/01/2022 19:53

I use Waitrose delivery quite often now and not had any issues. I find Waitrose and Sainsbury's the better two of the various supermarkets delivery in my area. I find the others are forever sending awful subs or have missing items constantly which defeats the object for me. I don't pay for an annual delivery pass and ocado are very expensive!

Sparklingbrook · 13/01/2022 19:55

@FangsForTheMemory

I'll be honest, I'm not sure why you need to announce it.
OP asks if anyone else has jumped ship. To start a conversation presumably?
Whadda · 13/01/2022 19:55

I’ve never seen an Ocado flounce before.
