Does anyone else wish that the PM would stop turning up at vaccine centres, where he probably gets in the way, instead of concentrating on his own job and start solving the many problems facing this country?

Absolute bawbag of a man. Is anyone still owning up to have voted him inHmm

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2021 01:11

@JohnHuffam1812

" Boris looked scruffy at PMQs today, a bit disheveled"

"Prime Minsister Johnson looked scruffy at PMQs today..

We have to call him Prime Minsister? Ok then.
Pixxie7 · 30/12/2021 01:24

It might be a kind gesture but I would certainly prefer it if he got on with sorting the countries out.

@Sparklingbrook

Yeah maybe then people will stop using the bufoon act to let him off

noworklifebalance · 30/12/2021 08:09

Maggie, Maggie, Maggie
Out! Out! Out!

She definitely wasn’t always Margaret Thatcher or Thatcher

I can see how that would work in protest but don’t recall her being referred to as Maggie in general chat esp when referring to her policies in the same way as Johnson is but, as mentioned, I was a child.

As I said, calling him Boris is in the context of his affable persona that he has curated. Maggie and Tony didn’t do that - agree with them or not, they at least presented themselves and conducted themselves professionally.

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2021 08:18

I remember her being referred to as Maggie in general and I was a child too.

I am happy to refer to him as Boris. Not that I talk about him 24/7. Mainly just on MN that he comes up.

JohnHuffam1812 · 30/12/2021 08:19

Maggie was a derogatory name really, don't ever remember her being called that by her supporters.

Nor did people go on about "Tony". Just always calling him Boris buys into the bumbling bufoon persona which leads to him being held to lower standards than any proceeding PM.

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2021 08:23

I call him Boris because that’s what he’s known as and everyone knows who I mean, nothing more than that. 🤷‍♀️

Samcro · 30/12/2021 08:33

do they check first that the person having the jab likes him?

JohnHuffam1812 · 30/12/2021 08:39

I just think it plays into his purpose for the persona.

Apparently that getting caught on the zip wire at the Olympics was staged for example.

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2021 08:41

I disagree. It’s what he is known as in the papers, on the TV and everywhere else. Like Adele or Kylie. Just a first name and everyone knows who you mean. No need to overthink it.

JohnHuffam1812 · 30/12/2021 08:52

"Like Adele or Kylie"

Exactly. He isn't a pop star or an act. He's the Prime Minister.

PurpleDaisies · 30/12/2021 08:53

Well this thread got totally derailed. Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2021 08:53

Of course he’s not a pop star Confused O don’t think you understand what I mean so I think I’ll leave it.

Sparklingbrook · 30/12/2021 08:54

@PurpleDaisies

Well this thread got totally derailed. Hmm
Every thread about Boris gets derailed by posters saying (for some unknown reason) you can’t call him Boris. 😂
JohnHuffam1812 · 30/12/2021 08:56

@Sparklingbrook

That's because "Boris" is a caricature, an act. Buying into it let's him off with stuff because he's "Boris".

Hmm

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 30/12/2021 09:00

Anyway Mr Johnson looked tanned to me so I’d bet he’s been away to Antigua or Mustique or wherever rich immoral PMs go and we’ve got the embarrassment and squirm of some telephoto lens pics to come and prove it

rrhuth · 30/12/2021 09:01

I think 'Johnson' suits him as a name.

On the original question - the problem is he can't do anything real, all he can do is keeping talking about vaccines, because his premiership is completely fucked. So expect more photo ops!

JohnHuffam1812 · 30/12/2021 09:01

@sparklingbrook

You don't think he's held to a different set of standards than any previous PM?

TrashyPanda · 30/12/2021 09:03

@Seemslikeagoodidea

I don't think he's doing any harm, and it might even improve staff morale a bit if he goes around thanking all the staff and volunteers there - it's a nice thing to do. He has his faults but when did thanking people become objectionable?
He hadn’t got a sincere bone in his body
Fairylights25 · 30/12/2021 09:12

People would complain if he didn't show support, and now of course you get the moaners on here that also complain if he does support the vaccine centres. Poor chap can't win!

JohnHuffam1812 · 30/12/2021 09:12

People might be a little more easy on him if he followed precautions properly and had been less gung ho at the start of it all.

Fairylights25 · 30/12/2021 09:13

I don't think he looked tanned at all! He just looked like he had a bit more normal colour in his face in comparison to the deathly exhausted paleness he had before Christmas. He may even had some actual sleep god forbid!

Jesus who would be a PM in this country, such nasty vipers.

PurpleDaisies · 30/12/2021 09:14

Poor chap can't win!

There’s nothing poor about him except his decisions. I have zero sympathy for him. He’s the one whose reckless, arrogant incompetence has got us in such a bad state as we’re in now.
