Today he's dressed as a policeman. Why is this even a thing and who's it meant to be for?

To attract votes from the Brexit pensioners. Along with the supposedly 'tough on crime' nonsense.

Poetrypatty · 06/12/2021 17:26

Do you think they fall for it or are impressed by it though Washingtonirving79 ?

To me dressing as a policeman doesn't make him look tough on crime Confused it just makes him seem like a dickhead

I actually wonder if what it is is, he thinks people in this country are really thick

He looks like a rejected Matt Lucas Little Britain character.

hygtt · 06/12/2021 17:29

The whole covid/pandemic thing has taught me that a lot of people are actually quite thick so he's probably right tbf.

neverbeenskiing · 06/12/2021 17:29

He is an utter embarrassment.

CamQ · 06/12/2021 17:33

Maybe trying to distract us from the fact they’re all cokeheads?
Sorry, I meant to say Johnson admitted sniffing it once but it apparently had no effect. I’m sure the 11/12 coke-positive locations in the Palace of Westminster were just due to a sniffer dog having an off day.

RoseRedRoseBlue · 06/12/2021 17:34

Yep, I cringed when I saw those pics.
thistimelastweek · 06/12/2021 17:38

I reckon it's the 'tears of a clown" thing.

Hiding your real persona - or lack thereof- behind a facade.

It is all a game to them. Currently they seem to be playing, lets try and distract the public with silly dressing up stunts, look a squirrel. It seems to be working.
Stellaris22 · 06/12/2021 17:41

I remember reading about when the PM and Rishi Sunak were doing some photo op to do with the railways. Apparently railway engineers have different coloured hard hats according to their experience and qualifications.

The hard hats they wore in the photo op meant they had qualifications and experience they definitely don't have.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 06/12/2021 17:43

Twitter is referring to him today as a shit reboot of Mr Benn.

Suzanne999 · 06/12/2021 17:44

Appalling stunt.
Shouldn’t he be done for impersonating a police officer?

Poetrypatty · 06/12/2021 17:53

It does seem especially tasteless to pretend to be a Police Officer doesn't it.

Shame, I loved Mr Benn. Not to keen on Johnson though.

He's of the age where Mr Benn would have been one of his childhood TV shows, assuming Nanny let him watch it. Maybe he's just acting out his childhood Mr Benn fantasy doing all this dressing up.

LolaLouLou · 06/12/2021 17:54

He looks terrible and his mask is not on properly and is barely hanging off his nose.

WeatherwaxOn · 06/12/2021 18:36

At least Little Britain was occasionally funny. BJ is like a 2 year old at nursery with the dressing up box. And all the sweeties.
FangsForTheMemory · 06/12/2021 18:38

I just cringe when I see the prime minister, whatever he's wearing.

Mind you, that doesn't mean I want him to go commando. Xmas Envy (not envy).

the80sweregreat · 06/12/2021 18:39

He is 'Mr Ben ' ( shows age)!

Whatever the job, they show up with the right size jacket , high vis , hat , whatever etc
He must have his own personal stylist ready with the right clothes .
' ere you go mate , this one should fit ' .
He must have wardrobes stuffed full of high vis jackets.

the80sweregreat · 06/12/2021 18:42

He will be the pirate and the man in armour one day. With a plastic parrot on his shoulder.

iklboodolphrednosedpaindear · 06/12/2021 18:44

'As if by magic, the shopkeeper prime minister appeared'

Poetrypatty · 06/12/2021 18:45

Whatever the job, they show up with the right size jacket , high vis , hat , whatever etc

That's true, they must have to phone ahead with his clothes sizes. That just makes me cringe even more, and in this time of the pandemic and serious issues to deal with it seems all wrong

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 06/12/2021 18:45

He'd even mess up being ' mr Ben '
.. mr B had kudos , Boris J has nothing to give.

AuntMasha · 06/12/2021 18:47

I can’t stand him, he makes me feel physically ill.

VladmirsPoutine · 06/12/2021 18:54

But the electorate seem to love him and the tories. What I've noticed about this country is that some people are prepared to suffer so long as nobody gets anything nice.
