Today he's dressed as a policeman. Why is this even a thing and who's it meant to be for?

OP posts:

He reminds of Mr Benn (kids TV cartoon) Benn used to go into a shop, get dressed up & have an adventure, sometimes in Pepper Pig World.

We are about the same age, so i wonder if he is reliving his childhood dreams

the80sweregreat · 06/12/2021 19:00

The Tories still won Bexley the other day ( reduced majority, but even so )
People still believe in him :(
Matt H was on look East looking all sad face and ' I messed up , but still love me ' bollocks.
He can do one too

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 06/12/2021 19:07

I think it is a deliberate thing, to make himself look ridiculous - same reason he messes up his appearance when in public (he apparently looks quite normal most of the time behind closed doors). But if we are all talking about him looking like a buffoon, we are not talking about the horrible stuff his government is doing. And the 'he is a bit of a one' worked great as mayor where peoples amusement meant a lot of things were let slide, and he is trying it in this job too.

It’s toddler dress up day at pre-school again.

He’s such a copy cat Trump. Twit.

zoemum2006 · 06/12/2021 19:22

@the80sweregreat

I live in Old Bexley and Sidcup and that result was terrible. It’s such a deeply Tory area there was no way they’d lose but the lack of enthusiasm said a lot.

In other constituencies it would be a loss.

Wiredforsound · 06/12/2021 19:23

Looking forward to the day he wears an actual dress. He’ll look like a reject from The Benny Hill Show (shows age).

EnigmaCat · 06/12/2021 19:24

Distraction and the knowledge that (despite what they say) people decide to vote with their emotions, being silly is less threatening than being a political bully. Much more 'fun' than the other boring political types who go on and on about fixing things. It works, turkeys will vote for xmas if kept amused/guessing.

GreenLunchBox · 06/12/2021 19:25

Bloody hell, what does he look like Blush

@iklboodolphrednosedpaindear

He looks like a rejected Matt Lucas Little Britain character.
Fml this is so accurate It's deeply depressing
hayley037 · 06/12/2021 19:41

Looking extra scruffy to give him that lovable harmless clown aura. "Good old Boris".

LuluBlakey1 · 06/12/2021 19:42

He's an oaf.

LakieLady · 06/12/2021 19:44

He thinks he's Mr Bloody Benn (the cartoon character, not Tony!).

StoneofDestiny · 06/12/2021 20:08

Can't believe he was allowed to dress up like that - bringing the uniform into disrepute. Looks like Benny Hill

StoneofDestiny · 06/12/2021 20:12

So Downing Street stands accused of breaking the law and hosting a Christmas party when they instructed us all not to do so, and the PM is cutting about on national television dressed as a police officer? Totally normal country
Stewart McDonald MP.

Kippersfortea · 06/12/2021 20:15

Why do we have a toddler running the country? Just why?

I despair

Thedogscollar · 06/12/2021 20:17

Can't wait till he puts his nurses outfit on 🤢

PicsInRed · 06/12/2021 20:20

Did anyone else imagine white powder about his nose as he spoke the hard speak on drugs? He then falls down and rolls around in the powder like a dog in dust.

First pic is 'dress up' in question. Second pic is a previous outing.

the80sweregreat · 06/12/2021 20:43

He looks a bit of a thug in the first pic
Channelling his inner Phil Mitchell

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 06/12/2021 20:49

Somehow I read that as “policewoman” and couldn’t see how his clothes were intended for a female police officer!

But you’re right, he is an embarrassment
