To cringe when I see the Prime Minister in dress up clothes again

Today he's dressed as a policeman. Why is this even a thing and who's it meant to be for?

I cringe every time I see the Prime Minister full stop

maddiemookins16mum · 06/12/2021 20:53

I’ve been cringing since the 2008 Olympics and that flag (oh and the Zip wire).

twilightermummy · 06/12/2021 21:02

I never find him funny but I have to admit I did laugh at the thought of the dealers behind that door! Imagine being caught and finding BJ dressed up in a cop suit outside your door with the cameras flashing 😂
It really is a complete circus right now that’s for sure.

sweetheartyparty · 06/12/2021 21:09

He looks a complete mess even when pretending to be a policeman. His schtick has become very wearisome. He's like the Benny Hill of the 21st century but we're the jokes

AliceA2021 · 06/12/2021 21:10

He' s clown and plays the clown and people appear to like him and vote for him. Odd but it appears to work for him and the party he leads.

Roseandgeranium · 06/12/2021 21:12

I’m sure I won’t be the first to say this but I’d still say YANBU if your question finished at ‘Prime Minister’. I’m sure Boris is a very fun guy to sit next to at someone else’s dinner party but the fact that he is our PM is a constant source of surprise and disappointment for me.

the80sweregreat · 06/12/2021 21:19

Can you imagine the police having to have him hanging around ? I bet they wished him a million miles away to be honest

JSL52 · 06/12/2021 21:28

@StrychnineInTheSandwiches

Twitter is referring to him today as a shit reboot of Mr Benn.
Mr Bean more like
OverByYer · 06/12/2021 21:33

He looks ridiculous, but yet again we are distracted by his appearance rather than focusing on his policies ( or lack of)

RedSquirrelsAreAwesome · 06/12/2021 21:34

I nearly started a thread like this when I saw Bojo playing dress ups this morning. It is so incredibly embarrassing. It impresses nobody and makes him look like a total tit. The police must be cringing at the site of him.
Oh and the hat……why do none of his clothes ever fit him right? No matter what he wears he always looks like he’s gone through the lost property box and just chucked on whatever he can find.
What an image to transmit around the world, our ‘eminent’ leader looking so polished, professional and responsible.

ilovesooty · 06/12/2021 21:34

@hayley037

Looking extra scruffy to give him that lovable harmless clown aura. "Good old Boris".
Absolutely. And swathes of the electorate are still thick and gullible enough to support him.
ParsleySageRosemary · 06/12/2021 22:40

It's a sick joke. But then Britain is one of the most notoriously corrupt countries in the world now, a major world centre of white washing organised criminal funds, so the whole place is beyond a sick joke.

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 06/12/2021 22:53

Oh gosh that's absurd! What next a a doctors outfit GrinConfused
How bizarre??

OhWhyNot · 06/12/2021 23:17

I’m fascinated by his appeal

I can’t work it out. I can’t think of anyone in politics in recent years that is able to win over the public again and again. Nothing sticks to him nothing at all. Is it that people know he is ruthless, hai very British style of charisma. I just don’t know. Even the Daily Mail are openly hostile against him yet he is still popular

I wouldn’t write him off we are stuck with him until he wants to go unless Labour get a leader than can compete against him sadly Starmer just is the person to (disappointed as I thought he would be being the antidote to Johnson)

For Bexley to turn red would be a miracle but we never thought we would see the Red Wall would turn blue

AnotherOneWithNoGoodName · 06/12/2021 23:18

Isn't it technically illegal to don a police uniform unless you are in the police?
Odd thing to do anyway!

Thewishingchair123 · 06/12/2021 23:46

I also thought it was really strange and very irresponsible. One of my first thoughts was the Sarah Everard case. People (never mind the fact he’s the bloody prime minster) ‘dressing up’ as a policeman like that seems very very wrong. He’s an absolute idiot.

SunscreenCentral · 07/12/2021 00:08

You need to get Proportional Representation into your country
TBPH, you are all completely screwed until that happens

stilltypewithonefinger · 07/12/2021 00:08

The Chief Constable should not have let him wear it, Boris was breaking the law by putting it on and making the Police look like they are involved in party politics. As others have said, it is an offence to impersonate a Police Officer. He should be reported to Crime Stoppers.(please let's do it!) It's beyond ridiculous and the police officers who allowed him to dress up should be held to account.

I suppose it stops people talking about the parties in number 10 last December. My dad's funeral was last December, I won't forget what following the rules was like on that day.

I doubt it's ever going to happen. I wish it would. But it's not in the current governments interest to introduce it.
Eleganz · 07/12/2021 00:47

At least it is proving that he can look like a bag of lead spuds dragged through a hedge backwards in any outfit.

I think he is trying to give off the "commander-in-chief" vibe when all he is giving off is the "lost-toddler-playing-dress-up" vibe.

We'll I suppose it could be worse, we could have Jacob Rees-Mogg as PM...

caketiger · 07/12/2021 02:05

Who the duck is on his staff that doesn't talk to him about his damn hats. He puts them on like a condom, massive pinched baggy bit on top.....

As radio 4 say JR-M = haunted victorian pencil
immersivereader · 07/12/2021 02:12

He did look idiotic.

And he was captioned with something non committal like 'we will continue to try to strive to...' etc etc ad bullshitism.

Oh are they having a fancy dress party this year? Or is he trolling us, by doing a presser dressed in the outfit he wore to last year's Christmas Party. I think we should be told.
