Rum lovers!

Help! After a birthday gift for someone who loves rum. No rum tasting experiences locally unless for a group of ten. After a really nice, unusual bottle of either dark or spiced rum (not what you’d buy as the supermarket) or set with several miniature tasting rums. I don’t like rum myself so clueless. Help!

Check out Wester Distilleries. Lovely rums, with spiced, plain, flavours such as chocolate, pineqpple etc. Modern bottles with a Cork top and I even bought some just to display on a cabinet as I loved how it looks!

A friend has a started a 'small batch' rum business with her husband - google 'Rockfall'. Bit of a modern twist on rum.

The Isle of Wight rum is fabulous according to my rum loving DF. You can buy it in master of malt

I am aware the conesuirs will be outraged with such a mainstream rum, but dead man's fingers coffee rum is divine.

Don't get havanah club...

It is now available in some supermarkets but dead man's fingers started in a small company in Cornwall, it's nice (just the plain one no added flavour). If they like more botanical flavours 1000 cuts is good, I tried one called Copeland smugglers recently, it's actually distilled in Ireland but was really good, and of course Diplomatico is my go to always have in the house

Dead Man's Fingers. Every time.

Depending on your budget, thedropstore.com/apps/bundles/bundle/91151 is a hell of a bargain. Hoodie, tshirt and 1.75 litre bottle of rum for £55. DH is getting one for Xmas. But the trouble is that I want it too!!

Brugal or Barcelo Anejo - I love rum and these are my favourites, followed by Appletons, Mount Gay, Diplomatico and Flor. I thought Dead Mans was awful, really gave me a headache.

It's the one I buy for my brother, we both love dark rum.
Diplomatico is also really nice too.

I love rum. My favourite is Spiced Rum is Chairman’s Reserve Spiced, it’s got a lovely smooth spiced flavour. To me, it tastes of Christmas. I would also recommend The Bush Rum Company’s Original Spiced. It’s another smooth rum and available at a really good price. Barti Rum is really nice, as is Twin Fin Spiced. Fallen Angel Spiced Rum is amazing but pricey - does come in an awesome devil face bottle. My favourite non-spiced is Bumbu - very smooth & lovely in a rum and coke!
