Rum lovers!

Help! After a birthday gift for someone who loves rum. No rum tasting experiences locally unless for a group of ten. After a really nice, unusual bottle of either dark or spiced rum (not what you’d buy as the supermarket) or set with several miniature tasting rums. I don’t like rum myself so clueless. Help!

Try it with Ginger Ale and a slice of lime

ether dead mans fingers or mount gay (is from barbados and sugar cane so sweet) are both very acceptable to a rum drinker

Huge rum drinker and agree with all of the suggestions. Also tried a Louisianan rum called Bayou recently and that was gorgeous - very moreish!

As I'm on annual leave this thread has inspired me, currently sat in front of the fire nursing a glass of rum with fentimans cola mainly due to lack of another mixer, it's serviceable and definitely preferable to DHs choice of cream soda!!!!!
