I'm so bored and underwhelmed. What do you do apart from work and be a parent?

OP posts:
GoodnightGrandma · 23/11/2021 17:24

Walk my dog.
Go to my exercise class once a week.
Watch stuff on TV, currently watching cheesy Xmas films.
And am a slave to my daughter, but she’ll go to Uni soon so I don’t mind, I’m enjoying her while I still can !

Curiosity101 · 23/11/2021 17:26

Computer gaming. My favourite is Ark, it's a bit like if Minecraft had good graphics and dinosaurs. At the moment I'm playing Amazon's New World. It fits really well with family life cause it's at home and I can pick it up/put it down as and when I have spare time.

I also used to ride horses before having DC but broke my back a few years ago (before having DC) so I'm acutely aware of what can happen if it goes wrong. As such I gave it up when 8 week pregnant with my first and won't be starting again until they're a bit older and less dependent on me.

Yoga, swimming, horse riding, and reading. I’m a fair weather gardener.

I do yoga at a great studio and most of the classes are online too - let me know if you’d like a link. I do gentle / mellow classes as well as one that’s a bit more sweaty. Worth a try!

I don’t have any hobbies which take up loads of time - just an hour here and there is enough for me and keeps me happy!

WhatDidISayAlan · 23/11/2021 17:34

Cycling
Fell walking
Gardening - tiny garden and a veg allotment
House renovation - it's not a hobby but it takes up a lot of time because I inherited a decrepit, half derelict money pit when my dad died.

Tigger85 · 23/11/2021 17:35

Guitar
Drawing
Cycling and MTB but not often since having D's
Occasional videogaming
Yoga and some weightlifting at home

Hobbies changed to ones I can do at home after becoming a mother, another D's is arriving soon so the cycling won't be a regular thing again until he is in school.

I exercise (dog walking, cycling or running pretty much every day).
Read quite a bit, and used to go to a book club once a month but need to go to this more regularly.
Play piano/ukulele/clarinet/sax a few times a week. Used to go to a pub based Uke night once or twice a month, stopped after having my youngest and really need to get back into that.
Started learning Italian on Duolingo in first lockdown and have been doing that every day.
Other than that I am on GC twitter and MN far too much for my own good...
