I'm so bored and underwhelmed. What do you do apart from work and be a parent?

I make my own clothes which is 3 hobbies in one (browsing/buying patterns, browsing/buying fabric and then actually using a sewing machine to combine it all)

I generally do this whilst listening to audiobooks.

I would like to run 3 times a week but I rarely seem to get the time when there is another parent available to look after the children.

I wonder if the amount of sewers/dressmakers here is representative of real life? I don't know of anyone else in my friendship group who does it but there's loads of mnetters seem to.

Squirrelblanket · 23/11/2021 19:21

Reading. Trying new recipes.

I'm trying to cultivate a love of exercise too but that one is still a work in progress. Grin

There is a huge sewing community on instagram and there are loads of independent pattern companies that have started in the last few years. I think the BBC's Great British Sewing Bee has caused a bit of a resurgence for home sewing.

I love it. Nothing I make is 100% perfect but it's my style and I love the process.
