I'm so bored and underwhelmed. What do you do apart from work and be a parent?

@Waxonwaxoff0

I have no hobbies. I just like going out with friends for lunch/coffee/drinks. Going to gigs and weekend city breaks.

They sound like good hobbies! As long as you get to do them more than very occasionally.

I have weekly 1-1 singing lessons and also sing in a choir. It all came about because I was scared to join in with the singing at church so booked a few lessons. 2 years later and singing is now my greatest passion.

neverbeenskiing · 23/11/2021 18:21

Films- I especially love going to the cinema alone, so relaxing.
Reading
Live music
Travel
Collecting vinyl records- be warned, this is a surprisingly addictive hobby! If there was a fire as soon as I knew DH and the kids were safe I'd be saving my record collection Grin

thesugarbumfairy · 23/11/2021 18:22

I sew. Bagmaking and dressmaking. I teach bagmaking on the day I'm not at ' work work'
I restore and dress dolls. Sindys mostly. It is my son's hobby that I've joined him in.
I have an Etsy shop which isn't really a hobby - I just need somewhere to sell my makes
Resin - I make resin jewellery when I can fit that in
I watch a lot of Netflix/prime/Disney plus etc. Mostly whilst I'm doing something else like cutting up fabric.
I don't have time for any other hobbies. I used to like dance classes but until my hip is replaced there's no jumping about for me!

I run or cycle every day. Often as a commute, but I do enjoy it - it helps me unwind. I also love cooking and baking. I cook from scratch most nights. I have a close relationship with a sourdough starter.

At the weekends, if the weather is ok, I usually spend one of the days mountain biking, trail running or climbing mountains. Sometimes that means I squeeze in a wee night in a hotel if we’ve travelled far.

I also am into lots of indoor crafty activities; knitting, crochet, painting, sewing, digital art, calligraphy, etc. I like a house/garden project too. I tend to go through phrases of being obsessed with one activity/project at a time and then once that’s finished, start something totally different.

I also like eating out/drinking cocktails with friends. I go to quite a few museums and art exhibitions, but my most favourite of all is a wander around a stately home and garden followed by a cream tea afterwards.

I get my nails, hair and facials quite regularly too - does that count as a hobby?

Can you tell that I am child free?

JuneOsborne · 23/11/2021 18:31

DeepaBeesKit · 23/11/2021 18:32

Socialising, reading, playing the piano, singing, knitting, baking, swimming

I used to include more exciting & time consuming hobbies (scuba diving, skiing, golf etc) but atm can't fit them in around young children

EewwwDavid · 23/11/2021 18:35

I play the drums and I make art - mostly involving film photography.

PooWillyNameChange · 23/11/2021 18:36

French class once a week and book club once a month. Apart from that just work, telly and reading. Used to exercise daily and will again when not pregnant again but that doesn't feel like a hobby.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 23/11/2021 19:01

Guitar, ukulele and piano practise. Video gaming on PlayStation and switch. Drawing. Reading. Listening to music. Embroidery. A bit more niche but plane spotting with DD.
