AIBU (yes but still) for being a fiery ball of rage about the fucking fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS A WEEK AFTER FIREWORKS NIGHT!! WTF?!

Whatever people think of fireworks (and I’m
not a fan anyway) it’s a bit like fair enough on fireworks night or the nearest Saturday. Fair enough Diwali.

But what’s the 12th November?!

Same here. We've had them every night since a week before bonfire night. But don't worry someone will come along in a minute and tell you you're a fun sponge or that pets are more of a nuisance.

I'm so fed up of constant booming and bangs. I've concluded that my neighbours are a bunch of selfish twats who clearly have way too much money and too few brain cells.

Round here they start in August for weddings and go right through to New Year. People seem to be endlessly entertainment by them

Surely a compromise is that people are allowed them on specific days or something? I’m sitting here with my eye twitching in silent rage whilst the dog cries and hoping my baby and toddler don’t wake up. They go on and on and fucking on. It’s been 2 weeks of fireworks it’s such a joke.

I've just received notification that there is to be a fireworks display tomorrow for guy fawkes night which as a lot of people pointed out was LAST WEEK apparently we are all fun sponges and he is doing it for the kiddies

Yup, just got caught out on a dog walk and my 25kg mutt refused to walk (understabley-they were loud!). Not a fun sponge, and I normally suck it up for 5th Nov but tonight annoyed me. Hasn't been out of cage since.

That’s what I mean. It’s reasonable since not everyone agrees for people to suck it up for one/two nights or whatever. Not for weeks on end

Eurgh same here I’m fed up of them. They start about a week before bonfire night and go on for ages afterward. Some twat was even letting them off at 1:30 in the afternoon today!

My dog can deal with it if it’s a couple of nights we get get settled in our bed with the tv on loud. But when it goes on for weeks it’s just awful for her.

I love fireworks.
You are lucky to still be having them, I'm envious. Learn to love them, problem solved.

I’ve heard some tonight too. There were high winds here last weekend so I know a few displays got cancelled, might be rearranged from then.

Re the dog, yes! Our dog is now very confused as we let him upstairs for the fireworks as he cries but he’s usually not allowed upstairs. For a night or two it’s fine and he’s happy to go downstairs but it’s been such a long stretch now that I think he will be a bit “I’m sorry what?!” When he has to go back down.

I've lost count of how many bloody nights I've had to make dinner whilst holding my shivering, shaking dog.

Just seems that there are a hell of a lot of bloody idiots who just love to be able to make loud bangs; the sort of idiots that really shouldn't be in charge of explosives.

And why do they have to be so loud. I don't need to have my windows rattling night after night, thank you.

Feel so sorry for wild animals and any animals that are kept outside. Must be terrifying for them.

Yep, I took my dog out for the entire Bonfire weekend (and Halloween) and then relaxed because "firework season" is over and she's not had a complete meltdown or looked close to a heart attack

Then some complete f*&ker of a neighbour let off an entire barrage last night. Honestly, I reckon I've got some sort of PTSD from having to deal with this getting ever worse over the last few years. I'm going to start necking the dog's meds...

Oh same! She sleeps downstairs usually but she’s been in with us for so long I don’t think she’s going to go back to her own bed without a fight. We have the same problem can’t leave her alone when there’s fireworks she just barks/cries.
